Whitman House is owned by David and Robert who do all possible to ensure you enjoy your stay with them. The house in Cambridge has been modernised by Robert who is an architect. Parking is good which is useful as it can be difficult in Cambridge. The rooms are a good size and our Gold Room had it's own bathroom.... More

We had just landed from the UK and hadn't informed David of our arrival time but he had left notes so we could let ourselves in. Wouldn't have liked to have stood outside with lots of luggage for the hour so this was great. The room was clean and the bed most comfortable. When David arrived he was most welcoming... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in mid June. The location suited us as it was within walking distance of Harvard Square and the tube was only a 5 minute walk away for easy access downtown (where we walked the Freedom Trail). Room was clean and comfortable, each room has a different theme which was nice. We stayed in the... More

Whitman House; not your typical B & B by any means. We have quite a bit of B&B experience and know what to look for in terms of the “experience.” Well we had an experience all right! Whitman House is not the type of B & B that pampers or spoils. That’s OK-we can rough it. But this venue is... More

These guests came to celebrate their daughters 21st birthday. We went out of our way to accommodate including buying balloons, tolerating use of our dining room for a party and consistent significant use alcohol. They arrived hours before check in during our daily house clean up and complained about the home not being cleaned yet. We are under the impression... More

I had a great stay at the Whitman House. It's ideally located in Cambridge, very close to a Subway stop, restaurants, cafes and food stores. It's a nice 20-minute walk to Harvard Square or one Subway stop if you don't feel like walking. The room, bathroom and kitchen were sparkling clean and generally the house is very comfortable. Breakfast was... More

I throughly enjoyed staying at Whitman House in Cambridge. The room was comfortable and had a very big bed. Free Wifi and DVD's are included. The B&B is in a quiet neighbourhood that is only a short walk from the centre of Cambridge, as well as being close to the Metro. David and Robert are very generous and interesting hosts... More

We spent four days at the Whitman house in mid June. It was comfortable, clean and above all quiet which was just what we needed to begin our vacation. The hosts David and Robert were very pleasant and made our stay even better. We had plenty of privacy, use of the outdoor patio and common area inside. The inn is... More

We returned to our friends David and Robert at Whitman House when we came to watch our son run his first Boston Marathon. Thankfully, we exited the Marathon finish area before the tragic explosions. Whitman House continues to be a place of wonderful hospitality and stimulating conversations. On this trip it was also a place of peace and strength in... More

The 1836 vintage restoration is fab! So beautiful and affordable! A short walk to the T station through a lovely neighborhood. Two stops to Beacon Hill. We walked to Harvard. Super location. The well-stocked kitchen is yours for whatever breakfast you desire. Robert and David are great hosts. This will be our lodging for future trips to Boston.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Though our Bed and Breakfast has been newly renovated, we think of the Whitman House as an established Cambridge residence, inn, and guesthouse. We are a 15 minute walk from both Harvard and MIT, or a 3 minute walk to the Central Square Red Line subway which gets you to the heart of either in one stop and the Heart of Boston in three. We have been personally involved in community affairs for over 26 years and glad to be your conduit to the cities of Boston and Cambridge. Beginning with no taxes, free off street parking on site, wireless internet, private bathrooms, and a flexible breakfast schedule; there is nothing you could need that isn't approachable in one way or another. This is a beautiful place that we wish you to enjoy, share and experience to its fullest as you conduct your stay. Please see the rest of our site for the full picture.
