It is an old building and it shows. rooms are tiny and outdated. The heat not on in our room. Do not go there. Mount Shannon is a summer lake tiny town. Everything closed in Oct. Had to go the another town to find a place to eat.

My 1 night stay was fine. The place is cute and old. I was happy with basic things like bed, shower, toilet. The extra things you'd expect with the price weren't great like broken TVs, used soaps, dusty carpets. Still fine with me. But then at breakfast time there was no staff whatsoever to be seen so the hotel guests... More

Ate here with my family recently while staying locally. Unfortunately, it was a hugely disappointing meal! I had the rib eye steak which I can say was, without exaggeration, the worst steak I have ever paid for. Instead of a nice hunk of meat, I was presented with two 1 cm thin strips of meat. I had asked for it... More

We arrived to this hotel as a family, sister and our 78 year old mum. We intended on having something to eat. We parked our car in the carpark at the rear of the hotel. When we entered the premises we were greeted by a member of staff who said 'Bar's this way!' we followed not impressed by her sharp... More

Great hotel, friendly atmosphere, lovely staff and great food. The rooms are cosy and there is a lovely laid back atmosphere. Broke my foot while out and about and John (think that was his name) couldn't have been nicer. He got me a crutch and some painkillers from his own home. I was really taken aback by his kindness. We... More

What I like about this hotel is that it doesn’t claim to be something it’s not. This is a good, clean, honest, down-to-earth family-run establishment which I hope to return to again. In addition to having very friendly/helpful staff, it also offers very good value for money. The rooms (like the rest of the hotel) are a little old-fashioned, but... More

We stayed here for a weekend with our 3 children. We had a family room which was a bit small but it was ok . It's a very old fashioned hotel but the food is lovely & the staff are great.

We stayed here in July, 2011. First off, the accomodation is rustic at best but very clean & just what we were looking for. We were made to feel right at home, from the moment we walked in the door & that was just the locals. It had beenour intention to stay just the night, but ended up staying three.... More
