On our trip around the island we had a birthday to celebrate. After joining a snowmobile excursion on the nearby glacier we went out to eat. Our expectations were not real high, after all it's just a restaurant located in a hotel. The food was stunning! We had one of the best meals we ever eaten. Everything was real fresh,... More

We had two rooms for a total of 5 of us. Each room was unique, with Scandanavian design. The beds were comfortable, and the view out the back towards the waterfall very pretty. There is a restaurant downstairs that serves great breakfast and dinner, as well as another bar/restaurant a few hundred feet down the road towards the waterfalls if... More

So this is not boutique luxury but it is warm and friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Kids rated the wifi at four star - a critical success - we all enjoyed a tasty dinner and although the rooms are spartan which seems to be pretty much the norm for Iceland, we were comfortable and slept well. Breakfast was... More

A lovely little hotel very close to Skogarfoss and the Skogar Folk Museum. The warmth of the welcome was very good from our Scottish host. The room was small but comfortable with a tiny but adequate bathroom and a good Wi-Fi signal. The hot tub and sauna were a bonus. Dinner was very good with a nice selection of wines.

A modest hotel in a great location with friendly, welcoming staff. Any basic-ness is more than compensated by great staff. Can recommend for this reason. Was part of a package provided by Nordic Visitor so can't rate on cost.

For access to Skogafoss, you couldn't hope for better. We were meant to be camping in this area, but due to weather warnings and having bearing the brunt of the Icelandic wind before, we thought we'd look for brick and mortar shelter for the night. Rooms are clean, comfortable and generously sized, some have views looking onto the falls. Staff... More

The hotel is close the skogafoss waterfall, you can go walking. The rooms are quite nice, well done. The view from the rooms are amazing and you can see the sunny day with the mountain landscape. Toullete a are nice and very clean. TV in the room and few channels available. Very recommended!

This is a small hotel within walking distance of the beautiful Skoga series of waterfalls. It's also a good base for the equally lovely falls at and near Seljalandsfoss, plus Vik, the Vestmannaeyar Islands, Solheimajökull glacier hikes and other sights & activities in central southern Iceland. Nice view out to hills and fields, nesting snipe and oystercatchers a few metres... More

Unexpected stay here for 1 night as our planned hotel ended up being full. Has the feel of a backpackers hostel. Our room was good size however, and well appointed, although the bathroom could have done with a bit of an upgrade, but everything worked as it should. Be prepared for "sulphur" smelling water here when having a shower or wash, which is normal... More

The hotel is in a brilliant location within a couple of minutes of Skógafoss waterfall. Didn't get a very friendly welcome though. Admittedly we arrived before the check-in time but as it was raining and cold we decided to ask if the room was ready. The manager/owner? was very abrupt and just said "no" and basically told to leave and... More
