A quiet, boutique hotel within walking distance of Skogafoss. Our second floor room was large, and we did not feel cramped for space. The thermal water hot tub and the sauna in this hotel are wonderful. The morning breakfast is good, but the actual 'restaurant' for lunch or dinner better. The owner is delightful, and the hotel small enough that... More

We did not stay at this hotel but feel that I must write this review. We we caught in a storm (February 2015) and were directed by the Icelandic rescue to go to this hotel. We went in, they did allow us to use the facilities, but had no rooms. The receptionist told us that we could go further along... More

Only stayed for one night and that was long enough for me. Stayed in a very small room for three people where the only 'entertainment' was a Rubix cube. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and there was a howling wind coming through the windows. The breakfast also tasted horrible. AVOID!

Rooms, as often, are small, but clean and pretty. Bathroom was real tiny, the sink being one for a wc at most...luckily we're not giants! The hot pot was over heated, impossible to use; we were said the owner had long planned to change it... Dinner was fine for the country, as was breakfast.

Hotel Skogar is a small, twelve room hotel, within walking distance of the two best attractions of the area: the Skogafoss waterfall and the Skogar Folk Museum (both worth visits, by the way). We elected for a standard room, which as might be anticipated, was small. There was room for a nightstand on both sides of the bed, and a... More

My husband and I have just returned from a trip to Iceland where we drove the entire Ring Road. What an amazing country! On our first night out of Reykjavik we were so fortunate to stay at Hotel Skogar. I had researched thoroughly places to stay and decided on Hotel Skogar after noting that it was right beside the Skogar... More

we toured iceland for a week and this was our fave hotel (this is not NYC and expectations are to be reviewed) .. it even had bath robes and a tv (not all hotels in iceland do LOL) and it's right by the skogar waterfall .. our travel agent had booked us a twin-bed room but they initially gave us... So, we had originally booked at another hostel, which lost our confirmation. Everywhere was full and we were starting to get desperate. We were worried that Hotel Skogar might be a bit pricier than we wanted, but we figured we'd give it a try. Not only was the hotel beautiful (with great amenities, hot tub/sauna), but the service was amazing.... More

We stayed at the Hotel Skogar for one night. It was nicely situated between a beautiful waterfall and a goat farm. We could see both from our bedroom windows. It was such fun to see the "kids" running around and playing. I peer out my window all night watching. The room was exceptionally clean. It was comfortable & the staff... More
