This was the second hotel that our tour brought us to (see Foss Lind review for a comparison). I agree with most people that this hotel is quite outdated. Old carpets and decor. Slow wifi only in the lobby. And ok food in the restaurant. But since I stayed in the Foss Lind Hotel as well in Reykjavik, I did... More

This was the only disappointing hotel we stayed in during our 12 day tour of Iceland. It looked, felt and smelled like an old, outdated hotel, with dingy depressing decor and minimal accessories (a single, hard-to-use liquid soap dispenser for both sink and shower, for example). And you could only use wifi in lobby and it was very very slow.... More

Our travel company included a 1 night stop at Fosshotel Reykholt on our itinerary for a 12 day tour of Iceland's ring road. This was the worst hotel we stayed at by far. The rooms are very basic and, having been converted from an old boarding school, have a very institutional feel - more like staying in a sheltered housing... More

Stayed here 1 night traveling by car around Iceland. Hotel is nice, with comfortable beds, hot tubs on the street, fitness center, massage arm chair and massage bed on the ground floor. Good breakfast. Location is excellent - around plenty of points of interest and waterfall with kids playground and nice terrace and elfs stories musium is just 15 min... More

Hopelessly outdated hotel with unfriendly staff (if you can find them at all). The kitchen is possibly the worst I've ever had the misfortune of encountering. There is also pretty much nothing of interest in the vicinity, so there is really no reason to visit this hotel.

Thanks for sharing your comment with us. I’m saddened to read your review. Surprisingly, our kitchen has been awarded as one of the best in the area. Thus, I encourage you to share with us more details of what has been so disappointing to address it immediately. The Fosshotel Reykholt is located close to world know places such us: Reykholt,... Good clean rooms. Basic but I can't imagine you would spend more than a night there because it's a good hotel in the middle of nowhere on the way to somewhere... One road from the capital and the one main road in Iceland takes you there.. About 4 hours coach journey from Keflavik airport. We were on a college trip... More

The room is very clean and the service is very good. The view from the room is excellent. They only have the wifi hotspot near the counter but it is not important. Totally is very good.

What a surprise to find a small hotel that has a real "happy hour" and it is nicely done by attentive and friendly staff. The hotel itself is not so great. Single rooms are tiny, very tiny. There is no elevator to help get heavy bags up the stairs. The restaurant is only so-so. Some of us are vegetarians and... More

Fosshotel Reykholt was the second hotel of our stay on our trip around Iceland, and the first venturing out of Reykjavik, and we never regretted chosing it. Already we were familiar that the hotel's slogan about friendly athmosphere is absolutely true, but here we were fully reinforced. I cannot praise the friendlyness and the helpfulness of the stuff. Apart from... More

I have stayed here before and then it was a little rough around the edges. Now it is a great smaller hotel. Stayed here with friends. the hot tubs were great. We had a nice supper here and the breakfast was bountiful. A great place to spend a few days and explore the west of Iceland.
