Huge rooms. No really huge. So much room both suitcases could be opened simultaneously. Beautiful bathroom. Hip bath / shower combo. So spacious and clean. Loved it. Did not eat there in evening as many large groups staying and we are no fans of the buffet! Breakfast more than adequate. Reception staff very helpful Highly recommend this place.

Accommodation is basic but acceptable, the dinner buffet should be avoided at all costs. Starter course (we did not realise there was one until we found the dessert course) consisted of various smoked animals (beef, lamb, puffin etc), no problems with this except that it was all very smoked to the same brown colour. The main course had a choice... More

Clean, quiet rooms but quite dated. Perfectly acceptable. Dinner buffet: The fish served was decent but the carving selections (lamb and smoked pork) were dry and had little flavor. The salad was of the chopped iceberg variety and the tomatoes in it tasteless. The roasted vegetables were either previously frozen or terribly overcooked. The creme brulee should have been called... This hotel is the best if you want a comfortable relaxing place to stay when travelling in south or south west Iceland. Our family stayed there for a week. The staff is nice - always helping and caring. They rooms are very clean and comfortable with very good beds giving the best sleep and rest. The dinner buffet offers varying... More

We stayed here as part of a tour. The bedroom was large with the usual 2 singles together to make a double plus an extra single. Bathroom had pump soap but no other toiletries or hair drier. There was free wi-fi, a TV and friendly staff. I gather upstairs rooms don't have a lift to access but we were on... More

This is the first time for over 20 years, I stay at an Icelandic hotel. I am mostly travelling abroad and my and my wife were invited to a wedding close to Hvolsvöllur, and spent the weekend at this old hotel,. we had a very nice room , with good beds, but a small but clean bathroom. A young lady,... More

I guess there is not much choice around if you don't want to pay 260 euros a night at the Ranga hotel in Hella! But by looking at their very professional website and the fact that it is a three star hotel, I was expecting a lot better than this. At first the receptionist hardly gave any information about the... More

We stayed here for the night and had no complaints. Our room was clean, well furnished, tastefully decorated, and the bathroom and shower were a decent size. The beds were comfortable. We also had a lovely breakfast of a full spread of Meats, cheeses, cereal, breads, and fruit. The staff was friendly and helpful, we certainly would have no problem... More

Poor breakfast, no service, roof leaked in the conservatory dining room area. I found a large fly found in yoghurt. Hotel staffed by inexperienced young folk. Rooms big but not very good curtains in our room.

The best thing about this hotel was that it had a great internet connection. The rooms were old and could stand updating. They did have good blackout curtains. Beds a bit thin. The shower leaked all over the floor; seemed the shower door was just caulked right onto the floor and when the caulk failed, well the whole bathroom got... More
