We were a family of 5 on a short break to Iceland. After a first night in Reykjavik and a day tour of the Golden Circle, we spent two nights at Hotel Laekur following recommendations on Trip Advisor. We paid for dinner at the hotel both nights, which was delicious. The rooms were modern and clean and the staff were... More

We stayed there for one night on our way to Jökulsarlon. All 4 of us loved the guest house. It has a great location right before the backdrop of Hekla, beautiful views in every direction. From the hotel there is a great route to the ancient turf houses in Keldur and then on to Fjallabakka. Dinner was excellent, breakfast very... More

After staying in a very modern hotel the night before with no 'homely' feeling we were delighted to stay in such a welcoming b&b. The owner gunnar welcomed us warmly and even managed to arrange some local riding lessons on a neighbouring farm. Dinner is a must as well, we really enjoyed our 3 course dinner and then sitting in... More

My group stayed at Hotel Laekur on the last two days of our ten day tour. We loved the relaxed atmosphere and homey environment. Our view of the northern lights was hampered by some clouds but the setting was right. Breakfast was a delight and plentiful. I had room 11 and it was comfortable and roomy for one person. The... This is a beautiful, clean, spacious, b&b that is located in Hella, Iceland. Our rooms and beds were very comfortable and warm and our bathroom was clean and spacious. The common room living room was our favorite space to hang out and play cards.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights in late March. Two of the nights we stayed there, the Northern Lights made an appearance. The hotel owner, who keeps a watch, woke us so we wouldn't misses them. Comfortable rooms, a good shower, and excellent dinners. There are also a ton of hikes and natural wonders within an hour's... The owner, Gunner was an excellent host and even offered to wake us if the Northern light should show (sadly clouds obscured the night sky). Even though we were only booked for one night, the travel company, Nordic visitor had kept tabs on the weather and when hurricane force winds were forecast, they arranged with Gunner for us to stay... We chose this hotel for my wifes 50th Birthday and the only thing to go wrong was , we didnt see the main show , the Northern Lights . Our hotelier stayed up until 3am on our last night to try and get a sighting but no luck. Thanks a lot for your efforts we really appreciated it. The hotel... More

On arrival we were welcomed by Gunnar and the dogs - very cute! We stayed here for two nights in hope of seeing the lights - but we were unfortunate with the weather. We ate dinner here one night - we all agreed it was the best meal we had eaten in iceland. There is also fresh coffee and tea... More
