My son (11) and I stayed our final night of a one week tour of Iceland at the NLH. It was a pleasant surprise. The exterior of the hotel is simple and it is strangely located adjacent to a geothermal power plant. The plant is interesting to look upon and not ugly or industrial and the hotel is a short... We had a very comfortable stay at the Northern Light Inn. Room was clean, quiet, light and airy. Staff were helpful - collected us from the airport for free, and seemed happy to ferry us around anywhere we wanted (locally!) in one of their minibuses, also all free. They took us to the Blue Lagoon at a moment's notice. They're... More

If you arrive at Reykjavik international airport at Keflavik you can transfer to Reykjavik, of course. But I recommend to stop here and stay one night. There is not much around apart from fascinating landscape and the blue lagoon geothermal bath. Arrive in the afternoon, check in, have a bath and relax from the flight, drop to bed, and fall... This is a quite chique hotel with a good restaurant, good rooms, big restaurant with super view, next to the Blue Lagoon, good breakfast, a bar, friendly staff... Good! But very expensive.

I came across this place by (happy) accident. It was a national holiday weekend and it seemed like all of the hotel rooms in Iceland were sold out. I was sightseeing throughout the Reykanes (sp) Peninsula and came across a brochure for this inn and decided to give it a shot. There was one room left and I was the... More

I chose this hotel for the first and last day of a week's holiday because it is only 20 mins drive from Keflavik airport. Set in a lava field (what isn't in Iceland!!) the hotel is modern and clean with spacious rooms and great shower. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Food is excellent, though not cheap. A main... More

The lava fields that surround this hotel and the nearby Blue Lagoon stretch for miles and give an other-worldly atmosphere to the place. The hotel itself was under renovation while we were there...not major, just some nice improvements. There was no night-time construction noise, just day-time, but no big deal. The food in the on-site restaurant was the best we... More

As usual, i will be giving you tips about staying in this hotel. Overall the service and quality of bedroom are very good. Clean bathrooms and good hosts. With regards to the value, i am sure you can find something cheaper in the Reykjavík. Location-wise: IF you are frequent customer of Blue Lagoon, this hotel is a good place to... More

We stayed here for our first couple of nights in Iceland. The hotel was nice and cosy. Lots of nice lounge space and seating areas outside. There was also a wonderful tower room with comfy seats for late night northern light viewing. It has panoramic views and is lovely and warm. The food was good and there were interesting and... More

The airport area in Keflavik is not the most exciting place to stay, even if a visit to the Blue Lagoon is worth the trip. Yet this hotel is perfect for a last night or two. Free shuttle to Blue Lagoon, simple but comfy rooms, a decent restaurant and a great place to watch northern lights in season.
