We stayed one night at this hotel during a trip in which we stayed at several Holiday Inns and other hotels. I would have to rate this hotel at the bottom of the seven or so hotels we stayed in. Not to say that it was a bad hotel, just that it wasn't as nice or clean as any of... more

For a Holiday Inn Express this property is below average. The rooms felt slightly shabby and the 1st room we were in was dirty in the corners. Stayed here 2 nights, first night the room faced the Hyatt next door and the jumbo a/c unit for that building. It became extremely noisy during the night. The monster a/c seemed to... more

I travel extensively, both for business and pleasure, and am a big fan of the Six Continents Hotels Group, staying in their properties (mostly Holiday Inn Express and HI) in Illinois and across the country repeatedly. I chose this particular hotel due to my loyalty to the brand and its proximity to my business destination. The lobby area was nice,... more

Double booked and was double charged by hotel. When I asked to keep the 2nd room, they refused even though I would be charged for it. One of the oldest HIX in the country, rooms smell of carpet deodorant, AC was noisy. I'm a GOLD PC and love HIX except this one. more

We walked in at 11 pm and asked for a room. They had one handicapped non smoking room and staff was extra nice. The room is immaculate and the bathroom tiles and fixtures are ones I would love to have in my own house! Everything is clean and the room is large (maybe becuase it is a handicapped accessible room).... more

This is a clean hotel with comfortable beds. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was quite a surprise! We had bacon, sausage, eggs, cinnamon rolls, etc. You have to use your room card to get in at night other than thru the front entrance, so that made us feel more secure. It's in a good area right down... more

I rolled into Springfield late in the evening and found the Holiday Inn Express with open rooms -- on a Thursday night. The staff that night and especially the next morning were fantastic. The room was immaculate...possibly the cleanest I've ever stayed in. I stayed in several Holiday Inn Express locations over the next 2 weeks, in large part due... more

walk-in...a tad pricey, but includes use of Crowne Plaza facilities next door...my room not 'in-range' of wi-fi internet, and booster was not delivered promptly; they allowed credit for inconvenience, but that's twice now..."..we can't continue to adjust your bill each time you stay here..."...maybe I should go elsewhere?... more

We stayed here while attending the Illinois State Fair. The room just wasn't all that clean. The first thing was I found a bug (just a little but...but a bug nonetheless) crawling on the bedspread. Then when I killed it, I noticed a white stain on the bedspread as well. Yuk!!!! I immediately took the bedspread off and threw it... more

We stayed at the Holiday Inn at Springfield, Illinois October 28 through October 30, 2005. The person who cleaned our room prior to our arrival failed to clean the underside of the toilet lid. Without saying exactly what was on it, suffice it to say that I was not happy to have to clean it up myself, as it looked... more
