Look, people... you have to realize what you're getting when you book a night at this hotel. The ambiance is 75% of the value. The staff is always ALWAYS friendly and attentive (I've stayed here three times now), the decor is AWESOME (it's early to mid sixties style, but either refurbished or new made to look old), there are some... more

Pros: Location - walking distance to everything. Very well maintained, clean comfortable rooms, free parking (other hotels in the same area charge $7-10 per night), period furniture, yet very usable and comfortable, professional and courteous staff, complimentary breakfast Cons: No swimming pool, king suites on the ground floor more

We were puzzled by the landmark qualification for a box-like motel but it has a really good outside and inside design, the furniture is top-notch 1960 design, the price is right and the location for d'town S'field is perfect. more

The only problem we had was trying to get in the room, it took anywhere from 5-9 or more times to get the room card to work. Also the sink in the bathroom it was hard to use (being short), because it was too high and the marble stuck out too far. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time. Thank you. more

Updated and remodeled, the Statehouse Inn in Springfield is convenient for government business as well as visiting the city's historical sites. We reserved a king suite and were delighted with the size and amenities. The room was quiet and very clean, and individual heat settings in each room functioned well. Free breakfast was ample with lots of hot food choices.... more

Stayed there Feb 09 with wife and son. Very so-so accommodations, breakfast, service, etc. though I'm not sure there's anything better in Springfield. Fitness center lame. Hilton looks closer to heart of downtown. more

I had been traveling and staying in variious cities for a week and checked into the State House Inn for my last night prior to returning home. In my suite the warm gas log fireplace, view of the city lights throught the big windows, cabled internet connection at the desk all allowed me to relax and enjoy being there. I... more

We had a Sun eve overnight for 2 adults in this hotel with the purpose of visiting the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum. Enjoyed the funky '50's design [i.e., remodeled in that style] that made it not just another standard hotel. Beds were very comfortable. Good water pressure & temperature, & better quality towels in bathroom met our expectations. Clean, neat... more

We took a mini vacation to the state capitol and this hotel was recommended by my dad. We found the room a bit small, but OK, as we were only sleeping there. We however did not like the beds as they were sunken in and seemed to have no box spring. That may have accounted for the total lack of... more

We took a 3 week trip to the States: 2 cities (New York and Chicago) and then a road trip along part of Route 66, up the Mississippi and back to Chicago. We booked every bit of our accommodation solely based on Tripadvisor reviews and everything was just perfect. The State House felt new but is furnished with 60s style... more
