Our room was very cozy, comfortable, clean and quiet. I loved being in it. The house is vintage beautiful - inside and out. The location can't be beat for sightseeing, even though we were told by the innkeeper that the bad side of town was a couple of blocks away, that women shouldn't walk alone in the neighborhood, and that... more

We just spent two nights/three days in Springfield. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Henry Mischler House. The number one advantage of this property is that it's right across the street from the complex of historic homes that have been painstakingly preserved by the National Park Service, including the Lincoln Home. It is the best part of Springfield. It... more

Great place to stay. Almost all historical sites are within walking distance with lots of places to eat. The inn is a great place to stay with all the personnel being very helpful. The breakfast we were served included orange juice, fruit bowl, and a casserole. I would definately stay here again. more

This is a beautiful establishment and the finest accommodation I have ever stayed in. Judy the hostess is wonderfully accommodating and welcoming and the house is straight out of the 1890s with the original features and antique furniture. It blends in perfectly with the lovely historic city of Springfield. Do not stay anywhere else other than the Mischler House -... more

My sisters and I spent two wonderful nights here and and couldn't have been more pleased with the accomodations. The amazing location made us feel llike we were living just houses away from Abe himself. All of the personnel were most gracious and willing to go the "extra mile" from putting ice in our car cooler to snapping our picture... more

First of all, the location of this B and B is wonderful. It is within walking distance to tourist attractions, restaurants, etc. In addition, the owner(s) have done a wonderful job decorating and restoring the house. Our problem was the "hospitality." Everything was fine when we arrived. The innkeeper was seemingly friendly and helpful. However, after talking to the other... more

Such a delightful experience to stay at a historic home which is directly across the street from the Lincoln Home National Historic site! It snowed on the second night we were there and the park's historic streetlights sparkled in the snow. The area was really magical. Because we were there off-season we got a private tour of the Lincoln home... more

For a first time stay at a bnb, the most delightful and enjoyable surprise. There are so many words that can describe this wonderful place to stay.. historical, old in a quaint way, great location in relation to downtown, very clean, wonderful food, comfortable and cozy gathering rooms, plus, they add a superb touch to hospitality, not to mention all... more

The new management of The Henry Mischler House is really superb, considering the last owners. Jane Murphy has really turned the place around and made it alot better. I've stayed here with other guests and we all agree that it is the best stay for our dollar. Jane Murphy also changed the rules for the house next door, the Stuve... more

I second the reviews of people who, like us, were housed in the house next door. 2nd rate to be sure. I didn't realize the price difference meant such a reduction in quality. Their website should clearly state the differences in the 2 houses as it relates to ambience and food. It is misleading. Yes, the host was friendly and... more
