We spent one night in April during our trip around Iceland. What a stunning place! Good location between fjord and mountains, hotel all made of wood, warm and cosy, very spacious with restaurant and lodge. Good food- we had best pizza ever. Rooms are in good size, nicely decorated with TV and english programs, own bathroom and kettle. Also there is... More

We stayed here in February. The snow was falling off and on all evening, and we had 5-6 inches of fresh snow. The rooms are small, but very warm and cozy. The beds are comfy and the shower is hot. The included breakfast was very good. Would love to stay here again!

I came to Iceland for a photo/video project and started the adventure counter clock wise. This has been the 3rd hotel we booked the same night we got there (9:15PM) and the staff just welcomed us in arms open (no issues for not booking in advance). The total cost was $145.00 American Dollars ($1 dollar = 133 Kronas at the... More

We stayed here on our way around Iceland and we loved the wood themed rooms and how cosy and warm it was. The food was basic and little choice. The staff were friendly and helpful. Good overnight stop hotel.

We were travelling anti-clockwise on route 1 and this was a strategic stop to suit activities we had booked. Not far off the route 1 it is very easy to find. We arrived at 8pm and the hotel considers this late - they request people arriving after 6pm call ahead to ensure they keep reception open. However this was no... More

We stayed for one night on a tour. The hotel seems to be built in the style of a log cabin with wood cladding almost everywhere! The hotel sits in a quiet town and after our fairly short journey we struggled to find a great deal of specific interest in the area, but it's a good stop off as the... More

Hotel Blafell is very nice hotel and not over priced as some of the hotels are in Iceland. Very earthly feel to the hotel due wood used in the entire hotel. Has great facilities like sauna and a room with nice hearth and comfy chairs/couches. Breakfast is good, pizza at dinner should be fresh instead of from fridge though.

We stopped for one night while touring - it is well-located for exploring the East Fjords. We arrived at the end of August and there was an end-of season atmosphere: the hotel was quiet and the staff seemed a bit jaded. We were in the newer part of the hotel which has a log-cabin style, and the room was clean... More

We stayed one night on our way anticlockwise around the ring road The hotel looks a bit sad from the outside but the rooms have all been refurbished with comfy new beds good hot shower and plenty of room The breakfast was typical Scandinavian. I really don't know why people in cold country's have cold breakfasts (same as Norway) anyway... More

We only booked this hotel one day ahead and were happy to find accommodation on such short notice. We had booked a standard room, but apparently found ourselves in one of the wood-panelled superior rooms. Very romantic. The room was very cosy, bathroom was small, but had a great shower, which is the most important thing. Good selection of food... More
