The plus were the 4 hotpots on the terrace though the cover flew on my head due to strong wind gusts and had to be put away and back on ourselves. The room was ok, view to parking and golfcourse not spectacular. The menu options in the restaurant included foal and horse and gave not a lot of choice. It... More

We had a corner room with a view of the golf course and mountains. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also better than most hotels we had been to on our trip. There were 2 hot tubs right around the corner from our room that were quite enjoyable. It was a nice location, very quiet. Breakfast was... More

There are not many hotels in Iceland located next to a golf course but this one is. The golf course is in a nice landscaped area, with trees alongside (not common in Iceland) and various other unique challenges. After a nice round of golf I stayed at Hotel Hamar with my wife. Nice modern interior decor similar to other Icelandair... More

Best place for first night around Iceland. Great location. Great chain of hotels. We got two rooms near each-other. Rooms were very clean and modern. Breakfast was very good. The location is perfect stop after landing to tour glacier nearby, steams and waterfall. 3 highlights of Iceland in the first day. We will defiantly recommend this hotel and the icelandair... More

If you want to start your tour in a nice place this hotel can be reached within a few hours drive from the Reykjavik airport. Spacious rooms facing the golf course, excellent food, and very professional and friendly people.

The room was quite small, however decently arranged. It was very hot in the room (it had floor heating that persisted no matter what we did with the thermostat) and we needed to sleep with the window open. Typical three star hotel where one comes to sleep, it is arranged in the motel style and probably not many people stay... More

Expected a so-so hotel, got a Motel Six. Room quite small, bathroom claustrophobia-inducing. Bkfst OK but the only non-cold edible was tepid porridge. Part of a tour group, and was soon to discover that bkfst was THE meal of the day. Two evenings featured large potions of under-seasoned, under-flavored entrees. Summary-if you must stay in the area, acceptable, but not... More

We have been traveling on an Insight Vacations tour this week and stayed in a number of the Icelandair. All have been very nice, although they were on the small side especially with three people in a room, but this hotel provide a lovely spacious room for three. It was probably the best hotel of all that we stayed at... More

The views at hotel Hamar were really something. Off the patio, which every room receives, were the stunning golf courses and hot tubs with the surrounding lake and mountains. We couldn't have asked for more, but we got it. The room was spacious and comfortable meaning we weren't on top of each other. The staff were kind and helpful. The... More

We stayed here with a tour group. The room was of reasonable size, clean and pleasant. We were not lucky enough to have a room overlooking the golf course but did have a view of the carpark. We did find that the walls were very thin and you could hear the people in the next room. The dinner was very... More
