This hotel is as good as it gets in a town like this. The rooms are not too big but more than enough for an Icelandic roadtrip. Wifi is very good. Staff is super friendly. The breakfast was good enough. This hotel is close to the restaurants of Borgarnes.

We stayed here on the first night of our 12-day tour round Iceland, and were pleasantly impressed. The receptionist was very helpful, the room and its bathroom were fine. The breakfast was perfectly adequate. The dining/function room is very large and seemed almost cavernous, even when filled with a couple of coach parties. Yes, the water is sulphurous, but you... We spent two nights at the hotel and the reservation was made by our travel agent. Checkin was efficient. The room was supposed to be a triple for three people. Three beds were right next to each other with very little space to move around. The bathroom was smaller than cruise ships I have been on and the shower was... More

The hotel was pleasant, the rooms are small but O.K. They have free parking and free wifi in the room. The breakfast buffet was decent and the staff were very friendly. We walked down to the water where they had several cafes and restaurants.

We traveled around Iceland using an itinerary drawn up by a travel agent and our hotel rooms were booked for us months in advance. I checked the Trip Advisor website to get an idea of the hotels we would be staying in and was a little nervous about this one as the reviews were not that great. We were pleasantly... More

I've visited Iceland in May 2013, but I still remember everything from the trip - you just can't forget anything from this lovely country :) Our visit was about 10 days long and we stayed in couple of places - 2 hotels, 1 dormitory and 1 family house and if I have to compare this hotel to the one in... Had stains on carpeting in room. It was very difficult to get WiFi in the room - had to call room service for this problem. Service was very good, as was the food. The view from our room was lovely. The hotel just needs to be renovated.

Probably the most noticeable about the hotel is the drinking water which smells of sulphur. Taking a shower is like showering in hard boiled eggs. The beds seem to have mattresses of different softness, in the room I stayed in it was reasonably hard. Breakfast is not too bad, but lacks any kind of hot elements like eggs, bacon or... More

Hotel room clean. Rooms quite large by Icelandic standards. TV in rooms. Bathroom is really a big shower with a toilet in the corner! Stinky water.....not hotels fault. Geo thermal water heating used. Probably same in other hotels in town. Have struck this quite a bit in Iceland.....it is just how water is heated. No tea or coffee making facilities.... More

We were traveling north to Stykkisholmur and found that Borgarnes was a good point to stop for the night. We were pleased to be able to get a room here in the high season. The room was an average hotel room, despite the pricey rate. We decided to roam around town and find another place for dinner instead of the... More
