I loved the little town of Borganes. It is a place for peace and quiet and enjoying the coast. This bed and breakfast is a luxurious place to get away from the hustle and bustle of traveling or the city life. It is so cutely decorated and elegantly furnished. Breakfast included several types of cheeses, meats, different freshly-made breads, coffee,... More

Very clean and comfortable gueshouse located right on the shore. Simple rooms with a very nice bathroom. There was a lovely sitting area outside by the sea and a living/dining area inside where breakfast was served in the morning. I appreciated the homemade pancakes (made to order!) and good selection of cheeses, meats, jams, breads, and juices. I have stayed... More

Great position and a very friendly, clean and comfortable bed & breakfast right in the centre of Borgarnes and overlooking the sea. Right next to good restaurants so easy to get an evening meal. Great breakfast with a selection of fresh home-baked breads. Big kitchen for those wanting to self cater in the evening.

Everything about Borgarnes B&B is wonderful and memorable. We arrived early, but were still able to get into our room to rest and freshen up. The innkeeper was so inviting when we arrived. The room was very comfortable and the view from it delightful. Breakfast was so abundant and delicious. The B&B is right above the beach - a very... More

Really nice Innskeeper! Breakfast was wonderful just as other reviews have stated. Lots of food choices including pancakes. The room was okay, pretty plain. The bathroom was awesome. We got the private bath. Borgarnes was okay, not a lot to do there although we did enjoy the Settlement Center.

Beautiful B&B, wonderful, friendly owner, delicious, hearty breakfast. Walked down to the settlement center for dinner and the museum. Borgarnes seemed a bit under the radar, but so glad we found the B&B and enjoyed all the area had to offer.

We had to change our plans due to weather, and we ended up heading to Borgarnes. We called around to see who had rooms available, and Borgarnes B&B did. We didn't know how lucky we were, this was a great place to stay!! We had room on the top floor with a shared bathroom. The room was big, super comfy... More

We weren't expecting much but were pleasantly surprised. A lovely little find. Great kitchen space. Really helpful staff. Lovely sitting area overlooking the sea. Fantastic bathrooms. Very relaxing. Drainage smelt a little bit, but had this in many Icelandic places. Overall as good as some of the hotels we stayed in. This one definitely had great views.

We arrived late in the day to a lovely and clean room. We were able to use their very clean and state of art kitchen to make our own dinner. Morning we woke up to an amazing view in the main room with a hot breakfast which included freshly made pancakes. The only downside was the shower water was not... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Founded in February 2008, famous for the hostess's breakfast buffet, Borgarnes Bed & Breakfast is a favorite spot for people from all over the world who want to relax for shorter or longer periods in a quiet and relaxing ambiance and at the same time have the opportunity to enjoy a big part of Iceland. We are located in the heart of Borgarnes, in Englendingavik creek, the protected historical center of town, with an outstanding view over the mysterious Borgarfjordur fjord. Only a walking distance from the sea, the Icelandic Settlement Center, restaurants and the playground Bjossarolo this Borgarnes's renowned Guesthouse is in a house that was built for the rich people of Borgarnes approximately 70 years ago. Even though it is popular as an accommodation for families, couples and individuals, with its 8 bedrooms, big kitchen and dining rooms it is a good idea for little groups to rent the whole house for one or more nights to enjoy a time of their own. As such the house has accommodated recreation week-ends, birthday parties, confirmation celebrations, just to give some examples. From Borgarnes you have a variety of shorter and longer hikings and you can do day tours on Borgarfjordur region, Dalir region, Snaefellsnes peninsula, Vatnsnes peninsula in the north, the Golden circle of the South coast and even go for the highland where you can have a taste of Iceland's second largest glacier. The staff is more than willing to help you organize your own ideas of a relaxing or an adventurous day before you head off in the morning. ... more   less
