I happen to love the charm and class of old, American motels. This little spot has all of that feel-good customer service, no frills, down home spirit. This place is not for the lux traveler by any stretch of the imagination. Bathroom is tiny, air conditioning is loud, wifi signal isn't strong, there's no pool. The cons pretty much stop... More

We ended up one late afternoon in Boulder City, Nevada on the day of a huge boxing event in Las Vegas. Spillover from Las Vegas filled every hotel and motel we tried. Then we came on the Sands, and its extremely pleasant owner, who had one room left. We grabbed it, and were astonished at the size and comfort of... More

I managed to get a room at the Sands at short notice on a Saturday night. Dawn came out to the Boulder airport to pick me up AND gave me a ride back out early Sunday morning!! Friendly, very welcoming, clean rooms.

Got in late at night without a reservation. Two couples, looking for a good nights sleep somewhere that wasn't expensive as were were just going to sleep there. Got checked in and were handed our keys. The live-in proprietor said we could get a discount at the restaurant next door. Got to our room. Very small, stained carpet, no drawers,... More

Enjoyed our stay. People were friendly and efficient. Price was high for what you got. Other places along the main road were in the $50-60 range rather that $80. All of these are in close proximity (waking distance) to multiple restaurants and shopping. No gambling in Boulder City, so its nice and quiet. Lots to do and see in the... More

I was driving through Boulder City and needed a place to sleep for one night. My first 2 choices were full so I chanced the Sands because they had a vacancy. The Room was clean - the bed was ok - there were signs telling you that if you spilled anything on the towels you would be charged for them.... More

Was traveling on business on a budget and stayed my first night at Motel 6 in Vegas (was booked by biz partner). It was horrible! People next door and above were quite loud throughout night. I had to stay one more night in the area and thought going just outside of town would be cheaper than the bait and switch... More

The owners are the friendliest hotelliers I've ever come across. They were extremely helpful and considerate. They will do everything they can to make sure your stay is enjoyable. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is perfect, right in the center of downtown historic Boulder City, just a brief walk from dining and local shops. It's very close... More
