Im Alaskan-- and I use this hotel for my late night airport arrivals home from outta state travel. It's near the airport, near a great breakfast favorite (gwennies) and hey-- it's the official hotel of the Iditarod-- who could ask for a more Alaskan event? The rates are fair too!

Needs a huge facelift. Rooms are still 80's era. 25 minutes for shuttle to get to airport to pick up folks while all other shuttles came and went. Food is expensive and nothing special. Front staff stops in the middle of checking you in to take phone calls. Pillow was so lumpy it was unusable (literally). If the marriot wasn't... More

My wife and I stayed here for two weeks in March during the running of the Iditarod. This hotel is the official hotel of the Iditarod and is buzzing with people managing every aspect of the race. Very fun to just watch. This hotel may be older but it is in excellent condition. The staff keeps it in great condition.... More

The saddest thing about the Millennium, where I used to stay, and where I still eat, is the lackadaisical management. How else do you explain years of Trip Adviser comments from staff that said, "oh, tell me more about your bad experience, we'd like to make it up to you" ... followed by several more years of the same predictable,... My husband got a Christmas bonus at work so we decided to treat ourselves to one nights stay at a local hotel. We chose the Millennium Alaskan Hotel because of its reputation. This was supposed to be treat for us, we do not have a lot of money so this was a splurge. We had reserved the Parlor Suite. The... More

From the outside, this hotel appears very upscale in terms of architectural design. So what you expect is something that anticipates some excitement! However, when walking in to the room, there's definitely signs that a remodel needs to be implemented. The room and bathroom shows the age of the building, which I can probably imagine looked beautiful in the early... More

We only spent one night at this hotel. Good location, even though it was a snowstorm. The room was a little dated and run down and I discovered that the deadbolt lock for my room would not work. Maybe I could have changed rooms but I was too tired to make a fuss at the time. Breakfast was expensive and... More

Room was the pits terribly hot (we were there june 21) window opened over AC unit. Restuarant had terrible service, we finally left without dinner, room cramped and marginally clean, staff was not overly friendly, we would not stay here again, it was too much money for the accommodations.

I've stayed here numerous times over the years, but my last visit was a bit disappointing. The rooms are very worn out, and it's time for a remodel. In addition the WIFI was down the 1 night I was there. I wasn't able to get any work done that I had planned on in my room. The staff was friendly... More
