I'm sorry, I can't stay at a hotel with a dead lion displayed in the lobby. Do people eat lion meat, I don't think so! So if no one ate the meat (like you could from an elk or bear), I guess the animal has been wasted! What a shame! I'd prefer to stay someplace else! more

lobby smell funny, elevator is frightning old (just check if the permit is still valid). matress very very smooth but the room is clean and ok. Was there only for one night, wouldn't recommend more. more

I stayed at the golden lion in Anchorage July 26-30, 2009. very expensive city. this hotel is in a great location, near the airport and the turnagain hote. quite at night, friendly helpful staff. bring blinders in the summer as their curtains do nothing to block out the 'midnight sun' more

Nice hotel. A bit on the older side. Within walking distance of a few places to eat. Room was very clean which is a big thing with me and hotel rooms. The cleaning staff was great. Front desk folks are ok. more
