We stayed one night at the Westmark hotel in Anchorage and completely enjoyed it. The hotel is located near the mall, great restuarants, pier, and major roads. The bedroom was spacious and well decorated. Bathroom was small with bedroom located sink and vanity. The view was absolutely wonderful from the 14 floor towards the ocean. But the rooms were either to hot or to cold and they didn't have microwaves or fridges in the rooms and i had to find my own parking and pay for it. I would only stay there again for the view and the convenience of everything nearby. more

The location of this hotel is great - right across the street from lots of resturants and close to shopping. Holland America uses this as a base for lots of tour groups and they have a lot of events going on. We were not there with a tour, so we tried to avoid the lobby when they arrived. Quite expensive for what you get -- the "vibe" can only be described as cheap, dirty and late seventies. For $275 a night, they should spend the money to get some decent sheets and comforters to spruce the place up a bit. The location is convenient, but that is the only benefit to this place. I have stayed at the Westmark Anchorage on several occassions when I have visited the city. I stay there because I like the location. The hotel is centrally located and in the heart of the shopping district and restaurants.
