Well, I have to say the staff was helpful. I booked this for 2 nights as part of a bundle package on expedia. The reviews (that I should have read before booking) were so scary I only stayed the second night and found somewhere else for what was supposed to be the 1st. The room we checked into still had... The hotel was close to downtown and several bars. The nightly rate was great compared to other hotels during the summer. The private room smelled like mildew, but we were given another room that smelled a lot better. We were given towels, but not faceclothes. There was a mini fridge, microwave, and hot plate in the room. There was nothing... More

Poor quality beds, linen, and furnishings. Very worn down hostel, and a cheaper quality of guest seems to stay here too. Lots of noise from the street and car park coming in all night. Service was good from the reception girl and the older gentleman in the first room to the dorms. The only satisfactory point I have about this... More

Mixed feelings because I didn't have bad experience but I guess I feel like the place could be so much better if managed properly. I was packrafting in South Central Alaska and decided to fly into Anchorage a 1.5 days early so I could have a look around before heading into the wilderness! I just needed a place to rest... More

As advertised, convenient to everything, cool set up! We enjoyed basing here and meeting so many people from all over. Comfortable and safe, great staff and could walk to downtown. Common areas for cooking and outdoor eating, lots of restaurants close by as well.

The Backpackers Inn is not a hotel but a hostel. I don't have the $200 and up for a regular hotel so for $70 I decided to try it out. It was very clean and the front door on the dorm building was kept locked so I felt secure. Being an older person the bed left something to be desired.... More

I stated here on 06/19/2015 to save some money as I was running the Mayor's Midnight Sun Marathon the next morning. I have stayed in hostels across the United States and the world when traveling and this one was the worst. I checked in and was in a 4 person dorm bunk room and a guy had a needle in... More

I would never suggest staying here. It's incredibly dirty and unsafe. Especially for females traveling alone or in a group even. I have stayed in hostels abroad and it was a lovely experience, this however was not at all. We paid for full week and didn't even stay one night. There were homeless men in our room and staff was... For the price ($25 per night), I can't really complain. I got upgraded to a room by just myself vs. bunking with others, which I was sort of expecting, so happy with that! Room is very basic, old bed, and tv and refrigerator (#215 in the blue building), which actually looks much nicer than the building to the left of... More
