We loved Knik River Lodge. The view over the mountains is incredible and there was new snow on the peaks on one of the nights we were there. That did mean it was very cold at night though - we certainly needed the heater and extra sleeping bag provided in the cabin. The food was fantastic and it is all... more

This place has been going for some 3 years and the owners have great plans for the future. The cabins are excellent with some kitchen facilities (microwave, kettle, fridge and wares) provided but it was a little chilly in mid-September (not a surprise there) as they are built for an Alaskan summer. The lack of TV stations, radios and phones... more

In the middle of a beautiful scenery you can relax and sit on the porch of your cabin, viewing the nearby mountains and if you are lucky a moose will cross the nearby meadows, or take a walk to the Knik River, ... or book for a ride with Knik Glacier tours. The lodge has a restaurant; where you enjoy... more

At one hour's drive from Anchorage, you can find total silence in Knik River Lodge. Combined with a spectacular view of the mountains, and hosts that make you immediately feel very welcome, this is a great place to start a trip through Alaska after a long intercontinental flight. Relax, enjoy the beauty, enjoy the wine and the really fine food... more

My family and I (2 children ages 7 and 10) stayed at the Knik River Lodge for 4 nights and had a fabulous time. Peter and his wife were great hosts and arranged a number of excursions for us (horseback riding, fishing, air boat ride to the glacier, 2 nearby hikes and river rafting). We ate a number of meals... more

After disembarking off the Carnival Spirit cruise ship in Whittier on May 20, we got on a mini-bus and enjoyed the beautiful scenic drive along Turn Again Arm. After an hour and half, we arrived at the Anchorage Airport where we rented a car and then drove an hour north to the Wasilla area to Knik River Lodge. It's perfect... more

We stayed at Knik River Lodge for the last 2 nights of our 15 day trip in Alaska. What a wonderful way to cap a fabulous trip! The owners were very gracious and accommodating-it was as if they had invited you to their home, and offered you your own little place to stay. Each cabin was very cute, with a... more

My wife and I and our two teenage daughters stayed for one night at the Knik River Lodge. Wow we should have stayed much longer. Peter and his wife are excellent hosts. This place at then end of a dead end road has the best views we saw of native Alaska, The Knik river is right below the lodge and... more
