I've been going fishing in Alaska for over 20 years and decided that it was time to try a different region this time around. I've been fishing with self guided lodges and decided to treat myself to a full service and guided lodge this year. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed. First I'd like to say that the... More

Last year we went for Kings in June, this year we chose August and the Silver, Chum and Pink Salmon as well as the beautiful, lively Rainbows. Our big decision for next year is what season to reserve. WPL is a home away from home! Our guide, Kyle, welcomed us back, helped us off the float plane and whisked us... More

Just returned from a 4 day AK Fishing Extravaganza at Wilderness Place Lodge. Limited out on Silver Salmon daily and got into more beautiful Rainbow Trout and Chum salmon than we could count. Our guide was fantastic and had us into all kinds of fish, a pretty solid chef as well and highly suggest the shore lunch with your fresh... More

I grew up fishing my whole life, but nothing prepared me for the fishing adventures and beauty of what WPL offered. Fishing was fantastic (silvers, sockeye, chums, pinks, trout.. all you could handle). The guides, guide manager (Noah!) and owners were incredible; each one was energetic, over the top friendly/accommodating and willing to customize your trip however you wanted. No... More

An Alaskan fishing trip had been on my bucket list of things to do for most of my life. Getting into my mid 60's it was time to start getting serious. I researched fly-in/fishing lodges for at least a month. I kept coming back to WPL. I finally placed a phone call to Cory and Jason and talked through what... More

Just returned from a 12 day Alaska trip and the best part of our trip, by far, was our time spent at the Wilderness Place Lodge. We'll be back next year- it was that special of a place and we had so much fun as a family enjoying the world class fishing, scenery, the wonderful staff and other guests, delicious... More

WPL's Lake Creek Float trip with guides Shawna and Scott was THE definitive Alaskan fly fishing, wilderness adventure - a week to ourselves on a beautiful river, tons of kings and 'bows, gourmet food every day/night and too many laughs to count. Our patient guides were the hardest workers you can imagine, and they were phenomenal in terms of putting... More

It’s February 2014. My boys Seth, Matt, and new son-in-law Jeremy are already far into excite mode for our August 2014 trip to Wilderness. This will be Jeremy’s’ first trip along with my brother, his son, my cousin and a colleague of Jeremy’s. This will be my 4th and my sons’ 3rd trip to Wilderness. I can’t say much more... More

Here come the Mandevilles. (You can almost hear the "Jaws" soundtrack playing in the background. What a great, energetic group of fishermen! We appreciate the many return guests we have here at Wilderness Place Lodge and these guys are definitely some of the forefathers. Can't wait to see you all this August. (Can't say the fish feel the same.) More
