We stay in Big Bear for one night, didn't were there much time ,but enough to see how many interesting artifacts are there on very small place. On our cozy room was comfy bed ,there was point to prepare tea and cafe, breakfast was simple but enough, the many kinds of jams was excellent.

Yea, the neighborhood may or may not be great but we liked this place a lot. I had reserved the Denali room because my wife cannot do stair easily and we were surprised to find what amounted to a two room suite complete with a jetted tub, shower and even a bidet. This place is full of photos and memorabilia... More

The minute you walk in the door there is bear skins, bones, antlers and everything Alaska!! We stayed in the Denali room I loved the bed, the screen and the shower but the toilet in the cupboard was interesting (although have stayed in a hotel where it was in the shower!!) our room was very noisy, and at 2:30am some... We stayed in the Denali room. There is a lot of stuff...everywhere but that didn't bother us because we came to Alaska for the scenery and wildlife, not the B&B. Frankly, if you use B&B's for more than sleeping and having breakfast, you'd probably be happier at an all-inclusive resort or hotel- regardless of the B&B in question. Breakfast was... More

Older B&B stuffed with all things Alaska to the point of being junky. Hostess was very helpful and breakfast was very good though don't know how she had room to cook in the kitchen. The bathroom in a closet did not work well for us.

We were not impressed whatsoever with this B & B. It's located in a very run down and bad neighborhood. It was filled with clutter throughout the residence... I agree 100% with Danielle055 I felt claustrophobic... The breakfast was just ok.. We stayed in the Denalli Room which is right next to the dining room/kitchen. We could hear every noise..... More

This is a quiet, older B&B close to downtown. If you are looking for modern rooms and amenities, you may want to give this one a miss, but it was a fabulous experience for us. Carol was very helpful in several ways, including coming up with a couple of ways to entertain the children. The garden in the back was... More

Big Bear is so full of "stuff" that you become claustrophobic--stuffed bears, plastic bears, resin bears, bear pictures, bear skins--everything but a bare table top on which to put your own things. Bad neighborhood--plus a broken window hinge in the Denali room that I had to wire shut myself because the owner just shrugged when I told her about it.... More

As others have mentioned in a iffy neighborhood. We heard gunshots one night (it was very warm and the windows were open.) but still very convenient to downtown and airbase. Very good breakfast but be prepared - if you are in a hurry you may want to take a pass. Lots of mementos - bear rugs etc. Good value just... More

Although, the neighborhood is spooky, in addition to being a master gardener, Carol is a great cook. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast, sour dough waffles made from her 200 year starter, fresh berries and berry sauces. Rick enjoyed the deep jetted bathtub in the Denali room. Excellent value for the price.
