I hate to give this B and B even 1 star. This B and B felt so unsafe that we actually called a friend to stay at their house instead of stay in our room, which was a basement with beds tossed in and "private baths" across the house (under the stairs). The service was horrible. It took 45 minutes... More

In 26 years of hosting guests at our B&B we have never had a guest use this type of excuse to assume a refund when they have found they can stay at a friend’s house. Of course we have a cancellation policy, and you can forfeit your deposit. However, without a cancellation, you are responsible for the full rate of... More

We stayed twice in this excellent bed and breakfast on our way out to Unalaska and on our way back from Homer heading to Vancouver It was one of the highlights (and there were many) of our stay in Alaska. Why? Because of the perfection that everyone involved in the B&B seeks to achieve in welcoming their guests - whether... More

We had an excellent stay here! Our room was on the ground floor, king bed, private bath. There was a nice shared sitting area outside of our room. Breakfasts were excellent and we met so many interesting people, including the owners and their family. Would definitely recommend this as an alternate to over priced hotels. We could easily walk into... More

My wife and I stayed at Walkabout Town B&B during July long weekend in 2014 for just one night on our way to Seward. It is located in a beautiful neighborhood in Anchorage. We were hosted by Scott and Sandy Stimson. We reached at their home very late in the night but Scott was still around to help us out... More

My husband and I were on our honeymoon and spent 2 weeks in Alaska. We spent the last few days in Anchorage and stayed at Walkabout Town B&B. What a wonderful stay! Our room was very comfortable and we had a private bathroom, which was so nice. The family was so friendly and accommodating and breakfast was fabulous! We were... More

This was our first experience with a B &B, and we were not sure what to expect. We were very satisfied with our experience. Good location, within walking distance of downtown. Property was clean and well maintained. Hosts were pleasant and informative. Breakfast was great. Would recommend.

We only stayed a couple of days but were extremely pleased with the Walkabout B & B. Close to down town was a plus and the fact it was in a quite neighborhood was what sold me on booking this place. The owners are a lovely family that made us feel at home. Breakfast was wonderful and being served in... More

We stayed two nights at the Walkabout. Scott and his wife were terrific hosts, providing us with good information and food, and leaving us alone when it was appropriate. We loved having bicycles available, which we took advantage of the first evening. I'm a bit of a "moose nut," and am using a photo of me with the wooden moose... More

My husband and I are active 30-somethings, and used at Walkabout as our base camp for traveling elsewhere in Alaska. Our experience was extremely pleasant, comfortable, convenient and accommodative; a complete pleasure! The house was homey and Alaskan, probably built in the 70's or 80's, reflecting the owners' deep (and interesting!) connection to the state. Furnishings were basic but comfortable;... More
