When heading to Alaska we checked out all the places to stay that were within our budgets This was the place, 19 family & friends stayed here beforing boarding the southbound train to arrive ready for our cruise from Whittier , not only did this family owned hotel accomidate all but picked us up from airport, took us to train... more

I should have read reviews other than at priceline, where I booked this hotel at the last minute. Staying here was one of the scariest things I have ever done. There are people who apparently live here long term, some of whom are mentally ill (one accosted my 5-yr-old son and I in the back parking lot), and who stray... more

Had I read Trip Advisor before, as I should have, we would not have booked this hotel! My wife and I stayed one night in Anchorage to start our vacation the next day on a cruise ship. The staff are the children/family of the owners and one of the the daughters was home from college working at the hotel. She... more

1/15/08 I stayed at this hotel for 10 nights and chose it because of the "reasonable" rates and the few good reviews I read on hotels.com. I got there and was booked into a room right next to the manager's office. The room was near the street so not only did I have to contend with street noise I also... more

Dirty, the room was not cleaned, used q-tips and other garbage was on the floor. The bedding was not changed and they sounded very surprised when I asked them to change. The front desk guy was rude. Stay away from this dump place. You can find much better for this price. more

This place rents there rooms to the construction workers and others that will be working in the Anchorage for several weeks at a time. There was constant noise from the surrounding room until 2:00am. Very unpleasant experience. The Continental breakfast was coffee, bananas and danishes, but by 7:30am there were NO bananas and very little coffee. AVOID THIS PLACE. more

Booked a room with a double bed but were given a room with 2 twin beds. There were no other rooms available. Windows opened on to corridor not outside. The room temperature was 82 degrees when we arrived. No AC, just 2 fans to blow around the hot air, by morning the room temp was 83, lost a nights sleep.... more

This was the scariest hotel I've EVER stayed in and I have stayed in 3rd world countries. There were see thru sheets and holes in the walls. There were different people everywhere coming and going at all hours. The original room given to us was full of smoke and in the back of the hotel. The room we paid for... more

I booked this hotel because we needed a place to stay before we could pick up our RV's. After I got a great deal I thought I better check and make sure about the place. I read some very bad reviews and was getting quite nervous about staying there. We were all pleasantly surprised. Yes, it is rustic, but it... more

Since we just stayed there for about 7 hours, it was OK - it had a bed and a shower. The outside appearance was very unattractive and looked questionable. The lobby and hallway were also unattractive. The staff (we only saw the guy at the sign-in counter) didn't seem like he had a full deck. However, the room was clean.... more
