I've stayed at both the downtown Extended Stay and this midtown location. The midtown one allows pets, so no surprise I had fleas all over my room and woke up the next day with itchy flea bites all over. Not worth $200 a night for that experience. On the plus side though, if you're putting together a flea circus, this... more
I checked the hotel's website for prices as well as other sites on-line. When I found a better price on another web site, I called the hotel and asked if they would match it. They did. I paid $124 + tax per night. Excellent for summer (tourist season) and a weekend. I drove to Anchorage and really appreciated the free... more
I got this room off Hotwire for only $49. Wireless internet access was an extra $4.95. The front desk person was very friendly and check-in was fast. There was a sort of musty smell in the hallway but I think that’s because some people who stay there smoke. I had a non-smoking room and there was no smell. My room... more
Booked same day through Hotwire.com. $49+$12 taxes. $61 is a great rate in Anch! I enjoyed my brief stay at the Extended Stay Deluxe-Midtown location. Check in/ out was the fastest I've ever experinced. Less than 5 minutes for both combined, with polite, smiling staff. At least 2 elevators with a convenient side entrance to the nice, big parking lot.... more
If staying in Anchorage, stay at the OTHER Extended Stay America --- not this one in Spenard. Although this room was MUCH more spacious than the one at the other ESA -- floorplan included dining area, couch, separate living and bedroom areas and a nice stovetop range -- there were a slew of problems. it was very unclean (hair on... more
If you're stay is less than two weeks, you are happy eating sandwiches and microwaved meals and don't mind chasing down towels, clean dishes, etc., etc., the midtown Extended Stay is a good bargain. Otherwise, there are plenty of other places, including some awesome B&B's, that are sure to be more to your liking. On the positive side, the rooms... more
My husband and I and our 2 children stayed there as we were relocating out of the state and needed a place to stay because our household goods had been shipped. We got there and they gave us a room that they say was "just cleaned". We walked into the room and almost gagged. It stunk like cigarette smoke and... more
I travel for business and stay in hotels all over the country, this has to be one of the worst. It was dirty, and does not get cleaned daily, there were not enough towels or toilet paper in the room. When I asked for more towels, I was told there would be a $5 charge for bringing them to the... more
This little hotel is staffed by kind, accommodating people who are down-to-earth and without pretention. Don't expect a lot of frills or spa services from this hotel, but the bathrooms are clean, the water pressure is sooo good and the lobby is inviting. The rooms are a little small, but they are one of the only places that boasts air... more
