Wow. Reading some of these reviews I find it hard to believe I stayed in the same place! I had one of the upstairs rooms for 3 or 4 nights. Sure, I was on a budget, and didn't expect the Captain Cook Hotel, and I wasn't there to watch TV, just get a good nights sleep. Internet worked fine for... More

Well not much to add to everyone else, except to say that when we arrived nobody was there in the middle of the afternoon. The key to the room did not work(when we found the worker who was off the premises)on the first morning breakfast was a cup of stale coffee and the second and last day we stayed there... More

We pretty much got what we expected for the price of 60 USD for a double. Bed and bathroom seemed ok, rest of the room was not very clean. Breakfast (included in the price) the next morning was a bit of a mess, because nobody of the staff was around. Some of the cups for drinking were used during the... More

The Qupqugiaq Inn was the worst place I stayed in during a 5 week vacation in Alaska. I should have listened to the cab driver when he said, "Are you sure you want to stay here?" It is dirty, dis-organized, and constantly under construction, which can be unsafe when you are stepping over construction materials and avoiding dangling cords. The... More

My goodness, what a disaster. Don't let the beautiful brochure fool you. It says recently remodelled. It isn't, they have been working on it for months apparently. The place is a mess which I could understand if the mess was confined to the area being renovated but it isn't. My room was obviously old and in dire need of attention.... More

I think this is NOT a good place to stay. We made several attempts to get Credit back. Manager Jan agreed on August 9th (verbally) that she will issue credit on same day. Month later, and after several attempts to receive credit, STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY CREDIT!! Place is horrible, and management is very bad.

We stayed in this hotel in late July for 2 nights, and wished we hadn't. Anchorage prices in the summer are absurdly high, so in that sense, it was a good price - but the hotel is under renovation and it's very disorganized. We had to go through 3 rooms to find one we could stay in. The 1st room,... More

Quality/price ratio extremely little. Staff very poor. I took a private room with Personal bathroom. The room was not so clean, and not so clean were also the pillows and the sheets. There are hotel much better than this with same price (90,00$ par night). And the hotel is pretty far from downtown (about 50 minutes walkig...

We never actually stayed at hotel because when we drove in front and saw what type of area it was in, the back of the hotel gave to a car wreck/car parts area. The whole area is mid downtown, looking like an industrial part, not at all in a typical tourist area. A very busy main street right in front,... More
