We stayed in Qupqugiaq Inn, while visiting Alaska because of Lonely Planets choice. It was great! We had a room with a private bathroom, and was able to keep a close eye on our vehicle. I really love the craftsmanship and customer service that was given. Our room was clean, and they offered my wife an extra blanket because she... More

Qupqugiaq Inn was a highlight of my trip to Alaska. I didn't want a standard chain hotel or bed and breakfast, and it didn't seem like there were a lot of independent hotels in Anchorage. Qupqugiaq Inn definitely has character! Each curve and cranny is unique. the room I stayed in was the Cuba room, on the ground floor, and,... More

We stayed there because of Lonely Planet suggestion and I am really wondering if they have ever been in that place. It's just a very dirty and dodgy hostel/hotel. I couldn't see if there was a carpet, because there was so much dust and sand on the floor. The sheets are old and with holes. In the kitchen don't try... More

We booked a private room in this place without checking any reviews because it came recommended by lonely planet. We can only imagine they have stayed at an entirely different hotel. We've stayed at bad places before, but not many as bad as this. There was no breakfast, coffee or home made bread, 1 towel to share (because their other... More

We looked everywhere in Anchorage for a hostel that we could take our family to and Qupqugiaq was by far the best choice. They have rooms with private bathrooms or you can share. They also have a common area with a kitchen, dinning, computers, and a small reading area stocked with books which was always kept clean. You will always... More

Whenever I’m in Anchorage I always make a bee-line for the Q. It’s the cheapest, bright, phone, and computers and with a great location. There are 2 convenience shops very close, and the movie is within walking distance. Important for me as I do not drive. Bus routes are nearby. I always love the inner refreshing greenery of the lobby.... More

Without a doubt, the worst hotel I have stayed in. The rooms were dirty; the mattress was on a board; the smell from the Mexican restaurant below lingered all night; my room was insecure-a smoker's balcony was outside my window and only a one foot step up; the breakfast was almost non-existent in a filthy kitchen-no 'French pressed coffee', no... Do not ask for a room at the front - 36th Avenue is a busy main road and you get a view of the mall opposite. Do not ask for a room at the back - you get a view of the parking lot and the scrapyard of trashed cars beyond it. And you might also get the fumes from... More

This is a very quaint and artistically designed inn. The curving walls and artwork that adorn the rooms and building are really nice. Unfortunately, while it is listed as a value hotel there are some serious shortcomings to staying here. Other reviewers have already noted the paper thin walls and noise from the street. We had a private room and... More

A friend and I were booked for 5 days. We had no problems and Jennifer -the manager- was very helpful. A good deal for the money.... Rooms were clean, downtown was only a quick bus ride away. Most importantly, they were flexible! We decided to take a two day trip to Denali and Jennifer didn't charge us for the change... More
