We stayed one night at the Portage Valley RV Park, and were satisfied with our stay. The property is surrounded by beautiful mountain views, but the RV sites are not very private. The RV site had water and electric hookups, but the dump station was shared at the back of the property. Portage Valley RV Park is a scenic RV... More

My husband and I stayed here in our small RV after a glacier tour. It's a great campground and the owners are delightful. They have free showers and are surrounded by mountains and wildlife. Just beautiful! I wished we could have stayed longer. It rained when we were here but it didn't stop us from enjoying the nature and mountains!

We were in Alaska for four weeks and stayed here three times, coming and going. I couldn't bear to stay in Anchorage, so we drove down to Portage just to stay here. It was the only place that was quiet enough to hear the birds singing in the trees. Of course, they were not full and we had some very polite... More

One of the best campgrounds we have ever stayed at. We had the pleasure to spend last weekend here at Portage Valley Cabins and RV Park. Let me just say, this place was great. The owners, Scott and Tammy, go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. They made us feel right at home and were more than willing... More

Favorite Campground that I have ever stayed at! Great service, friendly, thoughtful staff; eager to serve and make our stay pleasant. Here are my favorites: -easy to find -central location to lots of attractions -private -cute cabins to rent -showers available -gorgeous view of snow covered mountains (you can see evidence of avalanche left over from winter) -soothing babbling brook... I decided to take a one day trip from Anchorage with an overnight in Portage valley. I decided to go solo with my 3 children (ages 6, 4, and 2) to give my husband a break. We had a blast and the live-music was geared towards kids making it a hit with my family. They even gave out prizes! My... More

We chose this place after attempting to get a nice spot at Black Bear and Williwaw campgrounds (both were full). The good things about the place: It is very easy to find and clean. The front desk staff were very friendly and quick to serve. There is a nice fire pavillion for everyone to come sit under, enjoy a nice... More

Wow, I am sorry to hear you did not have the great experience our other campers had. There is actually quite a few private spots for tents. A great place is over by the pond. It is away from the common areas, the only noise you might hear is fish jumping in the pond or creek. The staff is always... More

This family owned and operated parks is one of the best kept secrets. Clean, safe, quiet, and best of all has a campfire pavillion. Often live music. Good old fashion family fun where everyone is welcome. You may arrive as a stranger but you will leave as friend. New water lines and lots of clean power! Nature at its best... More

We had read all the terrible reviews of RV parks in Anchorage and decided to head here for our first night. We were so glad we did! The drive down along Turnagain Arm was incredible and we pulled in around 6.00 pm after getting all our supplies in Anchorage. The owner was very welcoming and told us to park anywhere... More

We loved this campground! Nice location close to Whittier and beautiful setting. We stayed here before our day cruise out of Whittier and since it continued to rain after our cruise we stayed a second night as they have a wonderful sheltered campfire. We roasted hot dogs and smores' all while it was pouring down rain! There are two showers... More
