My stay at the Hilton Anchorage was unpleasant and I would not recommend staying there. Here's the condensed version of my stay: Friendly bellmen, friendly service at check-in. Went up to the room and it was very average, if not below average, very dated. Both doors on the closet were broken and couldn't even be opened to get the iron... more
Arrived at the Hilton after getting off a cruise, paid full rack rate over 2 months ago. Got a HORRIBLE room facing the HVAC roof machinery, ZERO view of anything but a dirty roof and it was handicapped accessible, (we are not handicapped) so everything was low and extra bars everywhere, not so great. Asked to be moved, was told... more
Stayed at the Anchorage Hilton last week. Great location for downtown Anchorage. Walking distance to everything....restaurants, shopping, theater, Egan Center, etc. Staff was outstanding...super friendly from the bellmen to the front desk to the bar. Room was very nice - typical Hilton room, nothing fancy, but just right for our needs. I would definately stay here again. more
Stayed there for 5 nights recently Lobby was nice, there is a starbucks and a restaurant in lobby, and bar slightly off the lobby. Bar was a bad place to sit and watch the big screen tv Staff were friendly, bell men were very niceand helpful; checkin staff were pleasant. Bar staff very down to earth and suggested that I... more
One essential item that any hotel you stay in during the summer months in Anchorage is the ability to obtain darkness. The curtains at this hotel really do keep the light out of the room. This hotel is very comfortable - from the hotel staff, to the room, and to the bed itself. Sure, it's like any other Hilton hotel,... more
I was in Anchorage on business and I figured the Hilton would be a safe bet. There aren't many nice hotel choices in the downtown area. My pros for the hotel are comfy beds, cool stuffed polar bear and brown bear display in the lobby. Cons are tiny bathroom, REALLY noisy radiator, shower didn't get hot, and the food wasn't... more
We were quite disappointed with our stay at the Hilton Anchorage several months ago. We have stayed at several Hiltons around the country and this was probably the worst one. Here's our rundown... Rooms: Did not meet our expectations. Size was good, and beds and bedding were very nice. However, the carpet was dirty, the bathrooms were gross, the shower... more
This is the 2nd time I have been to Anchorage in the last month on business. I decided to stay at the Hilton this time so I could get my Hilton Honors points. Big mistake! This hotel is really old and the decor is totally stuck in the 80's! The good things...beds were comfy, nice bedding, room was clean (but... more
I hadn't stayed in this hotel for years - it does not live up to Hilton standards, nor does it meet those of more moderately priced hotels in Anchorage (I stay at Microtel and Long House from time to time). The plumbing is bad. We couldn't get water above warm tepid in shower, but in sink the water at cold... more
