We chose A Loon's Nest for a couple reasons. The location was not too far from the airport (5-6 mi), and since our flight didn't arrive til 8:30pm we wanted to be able to get there in a reasonable amount of time. John welcomed us, showed us to our room and when we asked about a restaurant, gave us a... More

The host is an extremely easygoing kind man. He let us keep our luggage in his house past checkout to make it easier for our travel needs. He replaced our towels everyday. The room was well equipped with bathrobes as well as enough towels. The place was clean and comfortable. The sitting area has a gorgeous view and very comfortable... More

A Loon's Nest is a great place to stay. Summer hotel pricing in Anchorage is expensive, and the Nest was consistently lower than almost every place we looked. As a Bed & Breakfast, which is also inspected and approved by the Anchorage Bed & Breakfast Association, the Nest has a much more personable vibe than a hotel. We stayed in... More

The B&B is in a nice location and priced decently. John is a good host. The room was well kept and spacious. The breakfast was cereals and tea/coffee. The house is located close to the ocean trail, which is a plus.

We chose a Loon's Nest because of the owner being a retired educator. In fact, other guests turned out to be retired educators, too, so conversation was easy and we had a lot in common. Bed was comfortable, a fan was available during the hot spell, a door directly into the garden was convenient. There was a nice writing space... More

Great location for downtown, easy access to other areas. Clean, simple. neat. John is very helpful with information on the area. Simple breakfast. Quiet with one unit having an outside entrance the other thru the home.

This is a nice little bed and breakfast in the middle of a neighborhood. There are two rooms and both face the backyard and are very quiet and comfortable. There are some things that needed a little repair but nothing drastic. Overall not a bad place to stay in Anchorage.

My husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon. Jon was a gracious host. Helpful as we planned our next stop in Alaska and very friendly. There were other couples staying there, and they were also friendly. While the bathroom was not attached to our bedroom, it was very close and no one bothered us while we were there. The... More

My wife and I were in Anchorage during the summer...daytime all the time, and it was wonderful. The best part of it all was having the Loon's Nest as our sanctuary each and every night. John, our host, was absolutely wonderful and accommodating. The breakfasts were excellent, and his conversations and knowledge of the area made us feel more than... More

We were greeted warmly by our host when we arrived at 10 pm. He offered to make us eggs and ham for breakfast because one of us is gluten free. Good, but small portions. King size bed was hard. Easy to find and convenient.
