the staff was unorganized, the atmosphere was stuffy and the common areas could be cleaner. Not only do they need to do some updating in the rooms, the hallways smell like sulfur. apparently they allow yearly residents however they seem to overtake the guests.

the location was great. however, the first room had a mattress so lumpy we needed to be moved. the next room we got had an issue with the toilet. it almost always overflowed. Maintenance had a look , found nothing and left. There was no change to the operation of the toilet. Eventually it started to overflow on a regular... More

I was willing to put up with the dirty carpet, the sticky floors in the bathroom, and the general slum-like feeling of the place. (After all, it's cheap.) But I am NOT willing to put up with being slyly double-charged. I discovered this on my credit card last week. I booked online and Inlet Tower charged me once at booking... More

Jeff K, Thanks for taking a few minutes to tell us about your stay. I'm sorry you feel like something underhanded was done here, but I can assure you it was not. Being the end of our busy season we have many managers taking vacations and our accounting and finance manager was out last week which probably exacerbated the situation... More

The good: they have a 24-hour shuttle so arriving in Anchorage at midnite you will be picked up and taken to the hotel. Friendly drivers. If you had the 2014 Alaska TourSaver book, there was a two-nights-for-the-price-of-one coupon. There is a very nice grocery store across the street and the suite room had a big kitchen area with a fridge... More

fabriclover, Thanks so much for taking a few minutes to tell us about your stay. You've pointed out some very good things for other travelers to consider. Your tip is a good one as we are in the process of slowly renovating beginning on the 15th floor and working down the building, so the lower floors have not been completed... More

There are good and bad reviews for this hotel. It is frequently a matter of perspective and expectations. We needed a room for two nights in Anchorage. We read the reviews and had a good idea of what to expect. The price was definitely right. We got the hotel shuttle from the airport at 9:30pm which was on time based... More

sagurojoe, Thanks for taking a few minutes to tell us about your experience. I think you nailed it with this review! We are a 3 star property and have amenities as such. We are clean, comfortable, boutique, iconic, and have a location and views that are second to none. If you're looking for a ritzy stay, we may not be... More

I made a reservation here because, essentially, it was the only place with open rooms. I would definitely call this place a dump. I suspect the place was built or remodeled in the 60's, and I'm fairly certain nothing has been updated since then. It wasn't dirty, but it also looked like it hadn't had anything other than light maintenence... More

Linda, Thanks for taking a few minutes to tell us about your stay. I'm sorry to hear of the issues you had while here. I would like to quickly point out that we are an older, iconic, Anchorage property and actually being boutique, we went through a "retro-vation" in 2007, and have renovated the lobby, guest hallways, restaurant, and meeting... Clean, bed was ok, staff was good. Had a microwave & small fridge but could have used a coffee maker. Our room was quite noisy at night. We were on the 7th floor but still heard a lot of street noise. Completely unable to leave the windows open for fresh air at night. We also heard plumbing noises anytime anyone... More

jfjjfj, Thank you for your review. It sounds like overall your stay with us was neither excellent or poor, I'm sorry that we weren't able to exceed your expectations as that is our goal with every guest. There are coffee pots in every room (in the kitchen cabinet) in addition to free coffee at our continental buffet. I apologize if... More

The room was fine, clean, quiet and parking in front of the hotel is available. WiFi access very good. Rather old hotel, old and worn interior, showering in the morning was a cold esperience as warm water was scarce, besides needing to step on a chair to get into the shower/jacuzzi, which could be an issue for elderly. Getting the... More

We used a coupon from the Alaska TourSaver, so I guess we got a good deal, however we did not enjoy the two nights we stayed there. The room was on the second floor out to the back right above the outlet of the kitchen. So we could smell whatever they were cooking.. Fish or fried something, yes, there was... More

Rooms are very spacious with a huge bed, table, microwave, fridge and sink. Views across to the mountains. Free wifi. It is noisy from outside with traffic and inside the walls are thin. The bathroom is small, an unusual shape and could do with refurbishment. The chairs were also very worn. I like the Alaska map on the wall as... More

Poole11, Thank you for taking a few minutes to tell us about your stay. You pointed out some very good things for other travelers to be aware of such as the Free Wifi, proximity to downtown, and the fact that we do not offer a continental breakfast at this time, only a daily American Breakfast Buffet. Thanks again! More
