This is a very centrally placed boutique hotel/ b& b. The rooms with two suitcases in does not leave much space for moving around in. Be prepared to have your breakfast ion your lap in a sitting area, that is when there is a spare chair!! However it leads to a convivial atmosphere and the staff/ owners are very helpful.

This is an excellent place to stay in Anchorage. The location is excellent with rental bikes at the front door and the Tony Knowles cycle way just down the road.Hire the bikes and take a ride- we came across Moose on the Tony Knowles cycle way.The rooms in the main house are very well appointed. We stayed 3 times over... More

Spending time in Anchorage was the end of our two week exploration of Alaska and we were ready to do some more urban sightseeing but also to just relax. The Copper Whale Inn turned out to be a great location for just that. We were able to park the car and walk to the museums and restaurants and along the... More

Thank you so much! i'm so happy you found us and that you enjoyed your visit. So many Alaska itineraries don't include that most important part of vacation time - rest and relaxation. Also, thanks for elaborating on our two rooms with shared bath and the ease and convenience of the situation. The view across Cook Inlet from those rooms... More

Certainly different to your average stop off. A homely clapper boarded two storey establishment with annexe in the heart of Anchorage, friendly and relaxing. Lovely central area for breakfast and a chance to mingle with other guests. But can be noisy and we found the beds a bit uncomfortable.

Thanks for your kind review. I'm glad you enjoyed the friendly ambiance and the opportunity to chat with other travelers. With our great location, it is easy walking distance to everything downtown Anchorage has to offer. Unfortunately, with that said, we occasionally encounter the reality of urban living, and sometimes there are circumstances beyond our control on the streets surrounding... More

Very nice place, we stayed in the suite in the annex because our adult daughter was with us. The sofa bed in the living room has a memory foam mattress, very comfortable. The suite was very comfortable, spacious, the breakfasts are great. Wonderful location very close to the coastal path with a friendly bike rental place right by the front... More

This B and B is delightful and the staff gracious, friendly and helpful. We stayed with our group in the annex building that had a common kitchen area with a pot of coffee waiting for us at 6 am! The BRs are private, quiet and airy, ours with a hide-a bed sofa in addition to a queen bed, and a... More

The rooms and common spaces are immaculate and really charming. I sat in the common space, overlooking the water, read a book and had some tea and found it an amazing space to just hang out. Right outside the front door is downtown Anchorage, you don't need a car to see the sights from here. The front and side yards... More

The Inn encompasses two neighbouring houses, with small and quite basic, but attractive and comfortable, bedrooms. There is a central dining area for breakfast, which doubles as a lounge for pre-dinner drinks, although it can quite easily get too crowded to allow everyone to sit down. Breakfast is a simple continental affair, but very nice. Coffee, as so often in... More

This is a small, charming, inn - reminiscent of a fun and quirky boarding house I rented a room in when I was a young adult - with lots of staircases and doors here and there leading to different areas with more rooms. Our room was L-shaped with both a front and back door - which led to our own... More

Thanks for your review. Our living room has a lovely view to the west, indeed, looking across to the Tordrillo and Neacola Ranges, part of the jumbled landmass on the west side of Cook Inlet. We used to have futons in the larger rooms, and they were great in the 70's. We have had the twin sleeper sofas for a... More

My husband and I plus another couple recently spent 2 nights at the Copper Whale Inn. We can not speak highly enough of our experiences there. We were late getting there at night - no problem, the rooms were comfy and the 4 of us shared a full bathroom plus an extra toilet and hand basin, perfect for 2 couples... More
