Right in the smallish downtown area of Anchorage, the hotel is within easy walking distance of some good restaurants and interesting shopping. Rooms are generous in size, nicely decorated with comfortable beds and furnishings. Serve a good free continental breakfast and complimentary wifi in the rooms. A good base of operations for sights in and around Anchorage. Within easy walking... More

This location provides great access to the downtown area. It is small but quaint and cozy. The original wooden bar is intact and a beautiful background for breakfast. What caught our attention most was the bed. It was incredibly comfortable. In fact so comfortable that I called back to see what the mattress and bedding were. We loved Alaska and... More

I made a reservatin with them one night for the annual Anchorage Pirate Pub Crawl, the next day they said that I wouldn't be getting my room at the price I had reserved it for. The lady was pretty rude about it, I cancelled immediately. I don't do business with dishonest people.

Dear elgreg_Ory: Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate the feedback. Yes, we did make an error in the rate and availability of your suite for two nights. I apologize for this, we should honor the rate we quoted. The promotion is for Saturday night only. The published Pirate Pub Crawl rate is at $109.... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the Historic Anchorage Hotel. The Hotel is located in the heart of the historic district, shopping areas, and restaurants. The breakfast had a variety of choices and was very good. The Hotel beds were comfortable and the rooms were spacious and very clean. Terri Russi and her staff were always friendly and very helpful... More

The hotel is conveniently located just two blocks from the Convention Center, which is where our luggage was transported from our cruise ship. Restaurants and shops of dowtown Anchorage are all within a few blocks. The lobby of this historic hotel is cozy and inviting. The rooms were of a decent size for an old hotel. We loved the waffle... Stayed in Anchorage on the first night upon arrival. Staff was friendly and rooms were cozy and comfortable. Loved the restored character of the lobby and rooms. Breakfast was plentiful and enjoyed the make-your-own waffle maker. At the end of our trip we decided to spend our last night again in Anchorage. We immediately called and made a follow up... More

I spent one night here and found it absolutely charming. The coziness of the lobby carried through to the room, which had a large, comfortable sitting area in addition to the more-than-adequate sleeping area. The continental breakfast was so-so, but couldn't be beat for convenience. And the hotel is an easy walk from the railroad station, which was handy for... More

This place wouldn't be too bad if they just fixed three things. 1.) The hotel is located right near Rumrunners bar/nightclub and has super thin walls and windows, so you can hear everything outside. You can clearly hear every conversation on the street and all of the drunk people outside. You can also hear the guy that gives a tour... More

I stayed here with my family for a night. We chose this hotel for its downtown location (though Anchorage is a pretty quiet place and you have to change your perception of what downtown looks like). The other hotel with a similar location was the Hilton, and suffice to say, this hotel was slightly cheaper and offers free wifi. The... More
