I have stayed in several Anchorage hotels and by far i enjoyed the Historic Anchorage Hotel the most. The rooms are clean and warm. The bedding comfortable. The staff was helpful and welcoming. Like any restored historic hotel the bathrooms were tight. Great downtown location. Is reported to be haunted but we did not experience any unwanted visitors in our... More

We came in late (around 1.30 am) but were welcomed outside at the cab to help with our bags. Came inside and checked straight in and were given an upgrade to a suite which was nice. Our room was very spacious. Great comfortable bed with nice bedding. Central heating was set at a perfect temperature. Bathroom was clean and tidy... More

The updates to the hotel do not diminish the historic atmosphere of the room. The bathrooms were small but well laid out. The tub was deep, a rare treat in most hotels. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was luxurious. My only complaint is that the TV service was very basic cable. But really that doesn't matter much when... More

We stayed there for 2 nights. The staff was friendly, helpful and efficient (thanks Terry). Room was fabulous, clean, quiet. Excellent situation. Shops, restaurants and Visitor Center within short walking distance. Coffee, thee in the room. Excellent continental Breakfast (free) in a Saloon, making our own waffles... Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend that place and stay there again.

We stayed here for 2 nights, was given the lawrence suite when we told them we got married in vegas. The room was very roomy & nice. The staff were so nice. The lady at the front of house grabbed us a cab from next door like a seasoned new yorker;-) was very helpful about where to go shopping etc. Breakfast... More

The rooms are fabulous with a beautiful view when staying in the suites on the 3rd floor. Felt like we were part of the history. Clean, quiet and the staff was excellent and cheerful. Don't be late for the continental breakfast. Most of the food was gone when we arrived at 9:30 am and the breakfast served till 10. Very... More

We visit Alaska yearly and our first night is always at the Historic. We just love the atmosphere and the rooms are cozy and the staff is so accommodating and friendly. This year we stayed in Room 311 and I was excited because that is supposed to have ghosts. BUT we did not experience anything that would have indicated that,... More

I am glad I stayed here. Funky hotel with character. Most of the hotels are from the same cookie cutter design but this was different. Small and very friendly. Awesome free breakfast. Home of the first underground parkade (you have to stay there to find out more) in Anchorage. The place has character and class. No restaurant located onsite but... More

We stayed at Historic Anchorage Hotel because I was running the Big Wildlife Marathon in Anchorage. We had a large room overlooking a mountain range. The hotel is located in the center of downtown Anchorage and thereby close to many attractions. Also, I could walk to the start of the marathon. The manager was very friendly and accommodating to the... More
