An amazing honeymoon
It's a nice little place but you should know there's no air conditioning so in summer it can get quite hot. But it's very, very convenient and the rooms are a decent size. The service people try very hard (even though some didn't know the outlying area, they'd find out for you). I'd stay there again. more
The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and sunny. My only complaint is that there were many drunkards on the street late at night and they were loud. I can't blame the hotel for that though. more
A pleasant experience. Rooms were clean and spacious. The staff very helpful and Shuttle service to the Railroad and Airport was prompt. The breakfast buffet was a plus. Its a great place to make your home base when traveling to Alaska. more
They definitely tried hard, but the stay just wasn't quite there...The place is not all that bad, but it could use a bit of an update, and a little better cleaning in the bathroom. My wife and I recently stayed at the Anchorage Hotel for our Honeymoon, and our stay was definately first rate. The location itself could sell the hotel, right in the middle of everything downtown. The Anchorage Hotel may be the city's oldest hotel, but with the upgrades, renovations, and services they now offer, they are truly the finest hotel in Anchorage. My wife and I stayed here for part of our 25th Anniversary trip to Alaska. The hotel was near everything we wanted to see. It's close to the Saturday Market, all the gift shops, the mall, The Alaskan Railroad station and it was within walking distance to the coastal trail and the information center and walking tour.
