We stayed at Historic Anchorage Hotel because I was running the Big Wildlife Marathon in Anchorage. We had a large room overlooking a mountain range. The hotel is located in the center of downtown Anchorage and thereby close to many attractions. Also, I could walk to the start of the marathon. The manager was very friendly and accommodating to the... More

The entire staff is very friendly and they go out of their way to help you. Room was large, clean and breakfast offered many selections. did not see the ghost....Restaurants were very accessible to the hotel as were other shopping and entertainment possibilities . Would definitely stay here again.

Always a great place to stay. It's my first choice whenever I visit Anchorage. It's comfortable and has a great location for downtown activities. It can sometimes be a bit noisy from the store below. Something increasingly unique to hotels and motels, the windows actually open! The staff is great.

Well, we didn't get to see the ghost, but it was a wonderful stay. The breakfast was tasty and the old-fashioned breakfast bar was fun. Centrally located and walking distance to all downtown attractions. Most of all, the staff from check-in to check-out were helpful, fun and attentive. Would choose them again...and maybe we'll get to see the resident ghost... More

We stayed one night post cruise and wished we had more time to spend. Very charming, romantic and haunted. It is on the haunted Anchorage tour. Check out the ghost sighting book in the lobby. All the ghost seem friendly though.

We had one night in this hotel prior to joining a cruise. We arrived very late, after midnight, and were welcomed into a small and charming hotel by the very friendly night manager. The room was nicely decorated with a very comfortable bed. Continental breakfast was really good with plenty of choice. The location is excellent, right in the middle... More

This was a nice old fashioned hotel. It was beautifully kept up. Our room was big with a sofa, and good TV. The hotel is near many restaurants. The desk clerk was extremely helpful with suggestions for where to eat, and he safe guarded our suitcases after check-out.

This property is for those travelers who want to avoid the sterile environment and cookie cutter furnishings that are found in every major brand hotel. The Historic Anchorage Hotel is just that...historic. Quaint, steeped in history, it is comfortable and in a great location. The service was excellent and the staff pleasant . We had a Jr Suite which I... More

Anchorage is a small city and this hotel is in the perfect location. Quick, inexpensive taxi ride from the airport! It is a small hotel built in 1915 and on the National Register of Historic Places. We stayed here for 2 nights prior to our cruise from Whittier. Rooms are a good size and the staff was wonderful. They helped... More

We stayed here for two nights after catching the bus from Talkeetna. The hotel is very convenient to the bus stop and the museum. From the good reviews on Tripadvisor and Booking.com, we chose here instead of one of the larger chain hotels. Also the transfer bus company to Whittier called here to collect us on departure. Reception was swift... More
