When booking our phone calls and emails were amusing - Maud has a great sense of humour - and we knew our stay would be good. We spent 4 delightful nights at this lovely hotel. On arrival we were worried that the proximity of the road would make it impossible for my wife to sleep - we were reassured by... More

We stayed here en-route to Spain for one night. The welcome was excellent and the superior room overlooking the mill pond and march was smart, tidy and comfortable. There is a footpath through the march which can be reached in a few minutes from the Hotel - the noise from the Heronry at dusk when walking through the marsh sounded prehistoric.... Alas, we only had one night here. The room was very comfortable and nicely furnished. It is worth paying extra for a river view. We enjoyed a very nice dinner, and although we were the only guests were not rushed at all. Our waiter was most attentive and recommended a very nice reasonably priced bottle of wine to accompany our... More

We had a wonderful 3 nights staying here . The staff was friendly and helpful, the setting rustic but very beautiful with a wonderful marsh nearby for walking. The room was beautifully designed and the bed very comfortable. The restaurant serves very creative and delicious cuisine in a most charming room - cozy but elegant - gourmet but friendly and... We spent a delightful night at this hotel and had one of the best meals we have eaten recently. The room we were given was spacious and very clean, with a super comfortable king sized bed. It overlooked the garden and the marsh, so was very quiet, even with the windows opened wide to let in the cool breezes. Our... More

Unfortunately we only had one night's stay booked at this lovely Hotel, but we did manage to sample lunch and dinner in the evening, the standard was extremely high, with great attention to detail. We had a room overlooking the garden and water, perfect!! Would certainly stay there again, very impressed with the staff who went out of their way... More

It has always been my belief that the concept of Logis hotels is lovely food with rooms. This hotel surpasses that by miles and could be rated as wonderful food with lovely rooms that are spotlessly clean. The owner, a real livewire who never stops working, doesn't speak a word of English but miraculously makes himself understood. His daughter though... More

This hotel is not quite the restful rural idyll you might think as it is right next to the busy Rochefort-Royan road. It's set in the marshlands of the Oyster bed producers. Room 4 (Eu122 per night) was an odd shape and the bed 'area' was very small, but well presented and modern with a very nice bathroom, though there... More

A lovely hotel situated overlooking river. Large comfortable room with bathroom and toilet. Good continental breakfast available and an excellent restaurant. Friendly welcoming English speaking staff. Location slightly removed from main tourist area - about 8 miles from Royan, so car an essential to stay here. Amble car parking.
