My daughter and I stay here for a weekend get-away to Seattle. I was excited by the location- just great for exploring at the Market and the waterfront. The service was spotty- we saw three different young people on the desk, and as had been mentioned before, most of the time there was no one there. 10 at night and... more

We loved being able to walk to the Public Market and shops and restaurants nearby. That being said, with two kids we had a lot of stuff to haul up 3 flights of stairs and there is no elevator. There was barely enough space in our room for a family of four (and it only worked because one of our... more

This pensione is exactly what it claims to be: charming, and simple, no frills, close to everything - and reasonably priced! The best part of this accommodation is its proximity to Pikes Market Place, public transportation, and downtown restaurants/stores/coffee houses. Also, the view from its dining - sitting room is AMAZING. Frankly, my only complaint is that you can hear... more

My wife and I and our 55-pound wheaten/lab cross were all quite pleased with our recent 2-night stay at Pensione Nichols. This is a kind of cross between a hotel and a B & B, comprising 10 or so rooms of various sizes on the second and third floors of a converted office building (converted 20 years ago). It's like... more

I "heart" the Pensione Nichols. Genuine sweet welcoming staff and a wonderfully charming owner. The rooms are quaint, the main living room with a view of the puget sound so comfortable that one could spend an afternoon with the binoculars looking for ferries and sea creatures~ or just relaxing with a good book after a walk through the Pike Place... more

This is an ok place to stay, no more - no less, you'll have an ok time but don't expect plush suroundings. The B&B is well located in downtown a stones throw from Pikes Place Market, it has some nice views over the bay from lounge window. Met some lovely people while I stayed and had good conversation with them... more

After stumbling across this place on the internet I thought I'd found a gem, how misleading a website can be. I've stayed in some crapholes while backpacking and accept that but on this trip I wanted a bit of comfort, not luxury but comfort. For a start the reception isn't manned pretty much from after breakfast so no welcome on... more

Location was the main reason for choosing this establishment. Our family of 4 stayed in a suite which had a kitchen, bath, dining and living areas, and a small balcony. It was located in the rear which overlooked an alley that was on the northern fringes of the Pike Place Market area. Right on the alley under the room 2... more

First to talk about what was great about this place. There are three things that really stood out - location, location, location, the coffee, and the view. The location of the Pensione is second to none - literally one block up the hill from the end of Pikes Market. The hotel is along a pretty busy section of 1st Avenue... more

I have to say that this place is an excellent value and if you can't afford to pay more then you will be very happy. It's clean and in a fantastic location. It reminded me very much of a European pensione. But I do wish I would have sprung for a more expensive place where I could have had my... more
