minor issues but it's a suggestion maybe putting automatic air freshener spray on the wall in each room.. in my room during the 3 nights it smelled bad.. one guy left and went to another hostel in the city because of the smell..it wasn't due to property upkeep and it wasn't due to poor housekeeping.. it was a person in... Many thanks for your comments and keen observations. Before spending your personal money, you need only bring this issue to our attention. We would gladly move you to another room. The hostel elevator is quite small but we are happy to grant you access if you need to move heavy luggage. Thanks again for posting. More

I was on a train journey. This Hostel is within pull-your-suitcase distance for this senior citizen. Backpacking days are over. the staff was welcoming and helpful. I left my suitcase in the lower lobby and walked up stairs to the desk. Staff helped me get the roller into the elevator for check-in, then it was a breeze up to my... More

I had yet another terrific stay for the 10th time over there at the American Hotel in Seattle. In fact, I made it just in time to help celebrate the New Year of 2015, and I even went to two different places: The Seattle Art Museum, thanks to First Thursday, and then on the next day, I went to the... First time staying at a hostel, we slept in a triple room with shared bathroom. We made the reservation through booking and there was something wrong with it but the manager managed to get us the room we booked so it was fine! The girls at the front desk were really nice and helped us get around the city!

Chinese food around the area is pretty awesome. If your into sports like me then Century Link Field is close. The hostel is so so, the rooms were hot and humid. Bathrooms were not in a great condition. It had a funny smell the whole time of my stay. It's not a horror stay but it's not the greatest hostel... More

I only got to stay for a day. Staffs at the front desk were helpful and kind. The room (female, 4 people) was very tiny and they don't have lights on the ceiling so each individual gets to have their own study lamp attached to the bed. It could get little awkward, since the room was very small and some... More

I loved my stay here. The location is excellent ..the subway & King Street Train station are nearby. Also, the sports stadiums are in close proximity, which was a big plus for a sports fan like me. The staff was nice. The common areas deserve a special mention ..the dining area & the TV room were very well maintained. My... More

Thanks to trip advisor I can't link to my old profile that had my previous two reviews of this place, but if you look in August 2013 and November 2012 you can find them. I have given this place a lot of chances. It's physically a nice hostel. It's clean, the kitchen is great, the neighborhood is not bad.Its close... More

Liked • The staff: diversity of ages and perspectives—all quite friendly and helpful, especially Gia--who gets a five star in my book! • The signage encouraging resource conservation—though more are needed on the paper towel dispensers as well • The fabulous International District location: next to the Chinese Gate and the clock tower of Union Station; also Umijimaya and fabulous... Many thanks for your comments and observations. We are in the process of replacing all our old magnetic entry locks with new RFID locks. We hope this will solve the door issues we currently struggle with. The timers were installed to help reduce energy use. They do shut off., We originally installed expensive motion detectors. Our guests promptly broke them... More

It was a fair hostel for a couple of nights. The location is in Chinatown, near the bus terminal and at a walkable distance from downtown. The rooms and the bathrooms were clean, the kitchen is fantastic, but I must admit that (most of) the staff looked a bit bored, if not, totally in disdain for travellers (which doesn't makes...
