Thanks to Shafer Baillie Mansion we love the B&B experience. Not sure if it was the 600 thread count sheets, the mansion itself with gardens and sitting rooms, the huge trees in the neighborhood, the walking distance to the sights or getting totally relaxed outside of a hotel experience. The breakfast exceeded our expectations. I eat basically-fruit and protein-no additives.... More

We certainly picked the best place to stay during our 4 night trip to Seattle. The Shafer-Baillie mansion is in a fun part of Seattle. We ate at local place like the Coastal Kitchen, had a beer at HipVine, got a few supplies at the local Walgreens. Walking was easy to these places, the Aboretum, and Volunteer Park. This mansion... We stayed for 6 nights and can't begin to say enough about this place. Right near everything but in a quiet restful location. The rooms are comfortable and the atmosphere is relaxing. Thanks to Brenda, Glenn and Anna who make everything come off seamlessly. We highly recommend staying here on your next visit to the Seattle area!

We just got back from a four night stay at Shafer Baillie Mansion Seattle. It was all we expected and more. Breakfast offered many delicious options. The room was lovely. It was in a great location. Parking is free. It was hot (in the 90s) but the mansion stayed cool with many windows and high ceilings.

Just returned from Seattle today after a five night stay at the SB Mansion. What a terrific b&b. The house is exceptionally beautiful. The rooms had plenty of space and are so pretty (we looked in other rooms too!). The location is in a wonderful neighborhood with a park at one end. Be sure to stroll the area. We liked... More

My wife and I recently spent three nights at the Shafer Baillie Mansion. It is a fine old mansion converted to a bed and breakfast giving you the feel of a time gone by. We stayed in the Southwest Ballroom on the upper floor. This room was quite large with a very comfortable king size bed. There is closet space... More

The location is just far enough to downtown and close to Capitol Hill. The atmosphere is elegant and soothing with Brenda and Glenn's hospitality. The amenities are high quality. If you're looking for a spa or fast paced resort atmosphere you might consider another option.

This B&B is beautiful. The rooms were not large but very comfortable and cozy. The only slight disappointment was that there is not a cooked breakfast, just a buffet spread. It's away from the downtown which we found to be a plus. There is a park nearby and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. It is well worth a stay.

Thanks so much for your review! We're glad you enjoyed your visit. We have found that many guests appreciate the broad selection of our breakfast choices (including not just the usual "continental breakfast" items such as pastries, bagels, and cereal, but also a variety of fresh fruit, selection of cheeses, smoked salmon, hard-boiled eggs, prosciutto ham and more. Additionally, although... More

We stayed at the Shafer Baillie Mansion for five days during an important family event. We found every Mansion space beautifully appointed and lovingly restored. We were impressed by the attention to period details. Large, colorful rhododendrons bloomed in the manicured garden. The first floor spaces were airy and gracious. Breakfasts were varied, nicely prepared and locally sourced. The large,... More

Thanks so much for your review! We bought the baby grand piano when we lived in Kansas City. It was painted a dark brown color and didn't look like much, but our piano restorer discovered the beautiful tiger-stripe mahogany under the paint. Years later when we had returned to Seattle and bought the Mansion, we were thrilled to find it... More

Thanks so much for your kind words. Brenda and Glenn are treasures indeed. And the antique "ribcage" shower in the Master Suite-- has to be seen to be believed! There is a photo of it on the Master Suite page of our website, and at least one of the guest-posted photos here on TripAdvisor shows it as well. When we... More
