We spent two wonderful nights at the Shafer Baillie Mansion and were delighted. The mansion was beautifully appointed with period furniture. The grounds were amazing. Our room was lovely. Very clean and comfortable. The staff was amazing. Exceptionally accommodating and quite knowledgeable regarding the Seattle area. The breakfasts were delicious with many options to choose from. The mansion is conveniently... More

Unbelievably restored "millionaire's row" mansion. Breakfasts were fantastic, and Brenda, the Innkeeper, was amazing at making us comfortable and at handling any complications that threatened the wedding. One of the truly remarkable things about the restoration is that they were able to restore even the bathrooms to original--including using the original plumbing fixtures: The bathroom in the Master Suite is... We decided to spend several days here enjoying the last several days of our vacation. Our room was incredibly comfortable, luxurious, spotless, and well kept. The bed was amazing. We were in one of the upstairs rooms with the big leather couch. The house and grounds were truly breathtaking. We visited when there were many flowers in bloom, and it... More

My wife and I stayed here for two days while looking at surrounding areas with a possible move in mind. We usually stay at hotels and our first thought was to stay in downtown Seattle. We saw the reviews and did some research. Boy are we glad we stayed here. I'll keep it simple. Pros: Friendly staff and a terrific... More

Lovely restored mansion in a quiet part of Seattle, yet within walking distance of cafes and shops. Private bathrooms for each room. Fabulous breakfasts by the talented Brenda. One block away from Volunteer Park.

I'm writing this review almost a year late (My Fiance and I stayed Oct 2013 ) but thought i would share our visit none the less. We pulled up to the quiet street and were immediately blown away by the architecture of the mansion. Two towering trees framed the metal gate to the front entrance. We were kindly greeted at... More

Thanks to Shafer Baillie Mansion we love the B&B experience. Not sure if it was the 600 thread count sheets, the mansion itself with gardens and sitting rooms, the huge trees in the neighborhood, the walking distance to the sights or getting totally relaxed outside of a hotel experience. The breakfast exceeded our expectations. I eat basically-fruit and protein-no additives.... More

We certainly picked the best place to stay during our 4 night trip to Seattle. The Shafer-Baillie mansion is in a fun part of Seattle. We ate at local place like the Coastal Kitchen, had a beer at HipVine, got a few supplies at the local Walgreens. Walking was easy to these places, the Aboretum, and Volunteer Park. This mansion... We stayed for 6 nights and can't begin to say enough about this place. Right near everything but in a quiet restful location. The rooms are comfortable and the atmosphere is relaxing. Thanks to Brenda, Glenn and Anna who make everything come off seamlessly. We highly recommend staying here on your next visit to the Seattle area!

We just got back from a four night stay at Shafer Baillie Mansion Seattle. It was all we expected and more. Breakfast offered many delicious options. The room was lovely. It was in a great location. Parking is free. It was hot (in the 90s) but the mansion stayed cool with many windows and high ceilings.
