Such a lovingly restored home. The rooms were absolutely fantasic...not a bad room in the house. Brenda and Glenn are delightful hosts. Brenda is a weath of information as to the home's history and restoration. Her southern charm and hospitality are genuine !! Amazing beds, ironed linens, and large screen tv's . Plenty of lounging space in common areas. This... more

Rather than paying $150 - $200 per night to stay in a hotel that could be located in Anytown USA, why not stay in a local Seattle landmark to truly get the feel of the town you're visiting ? Shafer-Baillie Mansion is a beautifully restored 1919 Tudor Mansion in the picturesque Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, sensitively converted to a... more

After an Alaskan cruise my husband and I along with 2 friends stayed one night at the Shafer Baillie Mansion in the two bedroom Master Suite. The mansion was one of the highlights of the trip for me. All the comforts of home. The bed was comfortable, the decore was beautiful and Barbara made you feel welcomed. I recommend this... more

Absolutely fantastic, we had top floor room (new in 2009) and it was excellent. Room, bed, ameneties etc were all first class. There were weddings on whilst we were there but they were finished by time we got back so no noise issues. Breakfast was nice relaxed self service continental style but more than enough choice to have had variety... more

My husband and I are from the Atlanta area, and were in Seattle for an Alaskan cruise. We stayed a few days before our cruise and a few days after our cruise in Seattle. We stayed 3 days after the cruise at the Baillie. It was a wonderful, relaxing home. We stayed in two different rooms, due to a wedding... more

My wife and I just enjoyed a two day stay at the Shafer Baillie Mansion Bed and Breakfast located in Seattle’s attractive, old Capital Hill district. The house itself was built in 1914 and is one of the area’s grand old mansions which has been tastefully restored to create an elegant and comfortable lodging that will delight anyone who enjoys... more

The Shafer- Baillie was a sheer delight: warm, persoanl service; great location (away from hustle of city and near to Volunteer Park); fabulous house with individually decorated, period rooms; quality breakfasts (no cooked breakfast so you are spared the smell of fried food permeating the house); a chance to meet with other residents over the leisurely breakfasts and beverages on... more

The Shafer-Baillie Mansion is located on interesting Capital Hill in Seattle, which has a lot of interesting residences, and also a good many local restarants nearby. This is a big house with only a handful of rooms. On the main floor, there are several large common rooms. It is used for events and weddings also. Our room was large, two-room... more

let me start by saying we hate to stay in hotels and love the b&b experience from the unique classy rooms to sharing breakfast with others from around the globe...we had a wonderful conversation with the others at breakfast which was truly the best we had at all the b&b's on our road trip...you can only eat so much quiche,... more

The room we stayed in (Capitol Hill Room) was decorated beautifully. We were welcomed and shown to our rooms where we fell in love with all the details. Outside you are surrounded by many beautiful mansions, trees, and Volunteer Park. We could have spent the whole time just walking around the neighborhood and park. Breakfast was delicious and satisfying with... more
