Went on a Gf trip here for the first time. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions about area restaurants and shops. The free breakfast every day and free dinner 3 x a week were great for having more money for awesome excursions into other areas of Seattle. Highly recommended for value, cleanliness, community and adventures specially... More

Stayed at the Green Tortoise Hostel for a night. We booked a 8-bed room and luckily all of us know each other because the beds are very close to each other and the room was very small. Still, the bed was comfortable and the location of the hostel is excellent since it is right in downtown. Breakfast in the morning... More

Conveniently located on 1st and Pike, across from Pike Place Market, which is one of the busiest attractions in downtown Seattle. It's two or three blocks/ a five minute walk away from the shops, the waterfront and public transit corridors. I stayed in a 6-bed dorm room for $30 per night in February. I paid $20 in cash for damage deposit... More

Very well run hostel located at Pike Market, close to the waterfront and upscale downtown areas, public transportation. Very walkable location I got there easily from the airport using the hostel's directions. The hostelis is in the heart of activity, food markets, restaurants, pubs, tourist shops. It's all fun. The hostel has a staircase up from the street to negotiate... More

Green Tortoise is a great place to stay in downtown Seattle. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and spacious. We travel a lot and this is a good hostel BUT I was really annoyed when they wouldn't store our bags while we were away for 2 nights unless we paid for accommodation ($60 while we weren't even there) even though... My parents and I came to Seattle for a cruise to Alaska, but the staff at Green Tortoise Hostel made our brief time in the city absolutely wonderful. I made a reservation for Green Tortoise Hostel based on some helpful ratings and its ideal location to our cruise dock and Pike Place, but our one night stay went far beyond... More

I had never stayed in a hostel prior to the Green Tortoise. I was extremely pleased with the following: reserving the room online was convenient; the GT offered excellent tips on how to travel via light rail to and from the airport; the staff offered great recommendations for dining; and the location can't be beat. I highly recommend staying here.
