Green Tortoise was amazing! I was there for over a week and the staff was awesome. They took the time to get to know me and were really accommodating when I had to change my reservation around. They also led some amazing events to help bring all the guests together, ranging from family style dinners to fun outings into the... More

I was stuck in Seattle for two days, decided to go cheap and went with the Green Tortoise. Not such a good idea, they have only stairs, and then once you get to your room , looks like someone slept in your bed and they just made it again. The staff are drifters who end up lodging there, and in... More

It was my first time in Seattle and I am so glad I chose to stay here. At first I thought the price of this hostel was too much, considering I was coming from Central America which had cheap but good hostels, but I was very mistaken. This hostel is great. Free breakfast everyday and dinner every other night, secure,... More

Despite some comments against it among locals, it was a nice surprise. Located right in front of the Pike Place Market, it's close to most attractions, and has a good supermarket right next to it. Our room was good, clean and with enough power outlets to those who need it. The bathrooms were OK. And the staff was helpful. The... More

Great location, helpful staff, excellent food (free eggs and pankakes every morning). The dorms and bathrooms are clean and well decorated. Highly recommand this place in Seattle!!! Just be careful if youre walking alone at night.

If you book a stay at a hostel, you have to know what you're getting into. A hostel is not a hotel, and therefore should not be reviewed with the mindset that you were staying in a hotel. That being said, there are a few things I can comment on. Firstly, I found the nightly price to be expensive for... More

The green tortoise is a very decent hostel that is relatively clean and definately great value for money. The beds are comfortable and offer a great amount of privacy thanks to the small curtains that are installed around them. Self-cook food isn't great but you can avoid that. Toilets and rooms are clean. And the Location is just amazing! Central,... More

This place is old, stuffy, very chaotic and busy in the halls and at front desk. people just sitting in the halls leaning up against the wall on their phones, piles of linens around. Had to step over to get into our room. The rooms are dark and small. We had a private queen room. The frame was wooden and... More

The location is fabulous; it's right across the street from the Pike Street Market. The price is very reasonable, and the rooms were plenty nice for a hostel. We had a 4-person room for 3 people and it worked well for us. We had a sink in our room, and the bathrooms with toilets/showers were conveniently located across the hall.... More

By far the worst experience I have ever had. Felt like I was in a sex dungeon a trashy one at that. The employees where incredibly sketchy and gave me the creeps. Up all night itching I think I have fleas
