A clean and tidy hostel in a perfect location right near pike street markets and numerous other attractions and bars, with staff that are more then willing to assist you if you have any problems. The wooden lockers can be noisy when people are going into them at night but nothing to disturb your sleep too much

I go to Seattle alot & I've stayed at the GT at least a half dozen times in the past year & a half. The location is amazing - right across from Pike Place Market, you share the block with a CityTarget and only a short stroll down to the waterfront or up to the shopping, restaurants & nightlife of... Hostels usually are dirty and spartan. This one is not. Free breakfast and three dinners a week. Have everything you would need. You can smoke weed here if you are 21 in the smoking lounge. Next door to the pike market, Starbucks, bus lines and high speed rail.

I stayed a week at Green Tortoise and a week at City Hostel Seattle My experience was curmudgeonly staff but awesome management and offerings. I think the Green Tortoise staff is overworked and, try as they may, customers catch the brunt of that. Groups had awesome times here. If youre traveling solo, reconsider choosing City Hostel Seattle. If you're in... More

Good hostel (and like all good hostels sometimes loud, some funky patches (ratty carpet), some inconveniences), great locations, ok physical amenities, and good friendly staff. Good for a night or two to get the flavor of the flavorful neighborhood but it would be wearisome for an extended stay.

Good value with a free evening meal and breakfast. As with all busy city hostels, you need to put up with a bit of noise. All the twin rooms were gone, so we shared a six bed dorm. right next door to the excellent Pike Street Market. Good public transport from the airport.

WORST AND MOST HUMILIATING experience of my life! I was in town on business and was not sure if I needed to stay another night. I frequently like to stay at hostels for the social atmosphere when traveling by myself. The last evening, there was also a football game in town. This done up other rates of rooms by approximately... More

I chose this hostel over the others because it was located right in the Seattle mix of touristy stuff. Right across the street from Pike Market. Good price. I was in a co-ed 8 person bunk room. When you make your reservation, I would ask for a room on the first floor. The hostel itself starts on the 2nd floor... More
