I love everything (well almost everything) about it the location was the best especially it being a hostel and not a hotel within walking distance to everywhere, free dinners/breakfast, free tours, lots of free stuff provided to guest, and I heard it's low-cost (I didn't pay for my stay my sister did). The only problem I had was with the... More

Sorry for the late review, I had thought I had submitted this. Myself and a friend stayed at the Green Tortoise for 4 nights at the end of November. We had a Private room which was huge! the location cannot be beaten, our room even looked out over the Pike St market. Easy walk to most places. I love the... More

I don't get to travel solo very often but I found the opportunity to go to Seattle alone and choosing the Green Tortoise ending being the factor that made my trip so memorable. I haven't stayed in many hostels so I don't have much to compare to but I will say this- It was clean and comfortable. The staff were... More

If you want to stay in a (boorrring) standard hotel, an experience you will forget within a short time, do not stay here. If you want a wonderful experience that you will remember all your life, this is the place. I stayed there on a trip to Washington State to hike Mt Ranier. I am so pleased I chose this... More

As the title states, this was my third time staying at the Green Tortoise. It's always great! This is a very well run hostel and very consistent with it's service. I knew what to expect and they didn't disappoint. I took my mom along this trip and she was a little worried as she had never stayed in a hostel... More

Really enjoyed my stay at the Green Tortoise Hostel! I've stayed in my fair share of hostels and the facilities here were fairly impressive - really appreciated having such large lockers underneath the bed (big enough for my large suitcase!) and the toilets were always very clean. The beds have a small curtain you can pull over for privacy while... More

Green Tortoise was amazing! I was there for over a week and the staff was awesome. They took the time to get to know me and were really accommodating when I had to change my reservation around. They also led some amazing events to help bring all the guests together, ranging from family style dinners to fun outings into the... More

I was stuck in Seattle for two days, decided to go cheap and went with the Green Tortoise. Not such a good idea, they have only stairs, and then once you get to your room , looks like someone slept in your bed and they just made it again. The staff are drifters who end up lodging there, and in... More

It was my first time in Seattle and I am so glad I chose to stay here. At first I thought the price of this hostel was too much, considering I was coming from Central America which had cheap but good hostels, but I was very mistaken. This hostel is great. Free breakfast everyday and dinner every other night, secure,... More

Despite some comments against it among locals, it was a nice surprise. Located right in front of the Pike Place Market, it's close to most attractions, and has a good supermarket right next to it. Our room was good, clean and with enough power outlets to those who need it. The bathrooms were OK. And the staff was helpful. The... More
