We had a great stay at this hostel. We decided to stay here after our amazing stay in Sanfran. The amenities are great, rooms and bathrooms are spotless and the location is perfect. However! There is a guy working there. He is of very slim build, wears glasses and has black hair. As I was walking into the hostel with... More

Private bathrooms and comfortable mattresses. Beware: there are no elevators! Have to carry your luggage up flights of stairs but definitely worth it. The front desk customer service is nice and they are very informative on local tours. If you arrive before check in time, they allow you to store your luggage for free while you kill time in the... This hostel was wonderfully located, just across the street from Pike Place market. I was traveling with one other friend and we went every day during our stay for meals/snacks (though it closes at 6). It's also an ideal spot for hopping on a bus to many different parts of the city--very central. There are museums/things to do within walking... More

Great location. Target next door in case you forgot anything. Steps from the market where difficult food choices abound. Walking distance to many many many of seattles best attractions. I recommend the chihuly exhibit or a seahawks game. The staff was really cool and eclectic. A couch in the common area would be an upgrade I'd make. All around great... More

We stayed here mid-November for 4 nights. It is truly the best location. Wonderful staff who really put the effort into making it not just another hostel. We felt welcomed and included in all the activities and free dinners/breakfasts put on. The beds were remarkably comfy and warm in quiet rooms. The hostel is situated in downtown Seattle so there... overall it was a decent stay. The food was great. They do a daily breakfast & serve a free lunch on Sun, Tue & Thur evenings at 7pm. The food is great and the cook is friendler than most of the desk staff at this particular hostel. For all the pomp & circumstance their website boasts it falls way short.... More

After having horrible flight delays, I arrived at 4:00 am to the Green Tortoise. Justin, who was working the late shift, was very welcoming and made checking in and getting settled easy and quick. Other comments said the neighborhood felt dangerous or threatening, but I didn't feel that way at all, despite arriving in the middle of the night.

We stayed for only 2 nights but spent a fair bit of time at this hostel and got a fair feel for this place. As the title says, I think the two person bunks in shared dorms are well priced, however we were unlucky to get the top bunk in a mixed dorm which also had a really small storage... More

Really great hostel. Very central being just opposite Pike Place Market and only a few minutes walk from the main shopping district. EMP Museum and Pioneer Square also within walking distance. The beds were extremely comfortable, as you get your own lamp and curtain for privacy. Thick mattresses and clean linen too. Very quiet so easy to sleep, very modern,... More
