I love old hotels when they have been impeccably preserved like this one. The rooms are comfortable, everything works in the marble bathrooms, the staff is helpful and friendly. The new owners seem to be trying to relax a little of the stuffiness without sacrificing the elegance, and they are doing a good job. The location on "Pill Hill" makes... More

This old dame is quite a charmer! I'm glad you appreciate all the work that has gone into keeping her as beautiful as the day she opened! Yes, we're definitely about being upscale, not uptight. Glad you felt that. I'll be sure to pass along your feedback to our new management. Hope to see you again soon! Angie M. Mykel... More

Staying in the Sorrento felt like we were staying in a hotel in Europe with it's old world charm and dark wood entrance way. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The valets were excellent and front desk staff too. They were able to store our luggage until our room was available and again after check out while we waited for... More

I'm happy to read your wonderful comments. I will be sure to pass along your compliments to our valets and front desk staff, I think they're some of the best in Seattle. (I am a bit biased.) Thank you for choosing Hotel Sorrento! Cheers! Angie M. Mykel General Manager Hotel Sorrento More

I believe the Sorrento Hotel is one of Seattle's oldest hotels--(at least that's what the valet told me) with an authentic European feel from the carrara marble bathroom floors to the French Press coffee pot in your room. This hotel is conveniently located on Seattle's First Hill where you can walk to cafes, bars, bakeries and Top Pot Donuts! Downtown... More

Stayed here on business for one night and was pleased to have gotten upgraded to a suite. The bed was comfy and there was a great pillow selection. The room was charmingly decorated but the toilet seat and bathroom porcelain were chipped which undercut the old world charm and made it feel more like Grandma's House. My only big beef... More

Thank you for your review. I will have our maintenance staff replace that toilet seat right away. We definitely want to stay "old-world," not "Grandma's house." So, thank you for letting us know. I will be sure to review your feedback with our guest service team, perhaps there is something we can do to accommodate our early-rising business crowd. We... More

My folks used to come here all the time on their wedding anniversary, and I understand why. The Sorrento is an Italian Oasis style hotel built in 1909, and was fully restored in the 1980s back to its original style....so it absolutely oozes a romantic feel. The rooms, any of which you can't go wrong with, have the decor of... More

You may have written the perfect description of the Fireside Room! It is the heart of the hotel, and definitely a great place to grab a drink, read a book (check out our Silent Reading Parties on the first Wednesday of each month), or listen to some great music! I am so happy to hear we are part of your... More

I really enjoyed my stay at the Sorrento. There was retro European charm but that did not mean that there wasn't new technology and upgrades. I do think though that if I had not been able to use the stairs, the single elevator (the carpet in there always reflected the day of the week!) would have been a real deal... More

The day-of-the-week carpets in the elevator is a signature Sorrento piece. Everyone loves them! Having one elevator can be a challenge, it is the unfortunate drawback of being over 106 years-old. We trade a few luxuries for this old-world charm. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed your room and the rest of your stay. We look forward to having... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights before jumping on s cruise. Hotel service was great and Brian on the concierge desk really helped us out. The rooms are small but very neat and tidy. It's about a 15min walk to downtown, but for the difference in price between the downtown hotels and this one, well worth it.

This hotel is family-owned and -operated and the service is wonderful. It is a bit expensive, but worth it. We love to end the night with a nightcap in the lounge which often has live music or book group meetings featuring the author. We once stumbled upon Chris Cleave discussing Little Bee. The area has plenty of restaurants and the... More

Whenever I feel like a quick visit to Europe, I take a break and stay at the renowned Sorrento Hotel on the edge of downtown Seattle. You are within walking distances of theater, lovely walks and museums. The lobby and adjoining restaurant maintain both the European feel and luxury that regular clients have come to expect. And the rooms are... More

We always enjoy the artsy, quirky, cozy lounge for an after work "toddy" or drink. On this evening, we were bidding farewell to a co-worker as she embarks on her trip back east to Charlotte. There were 8 of us ladies and we selected a comfy corner in the "Fireside" room. We had plenty of room for 8 women. The... More

Thank you for taking the time to share about your experience. I love the Fireside for small, intimate gatherings, it's perfect! I agree that your drink should have been comped. I would love for you to contact me directly so that I can welcome you back as my personal guests. I promise, no porcini toast. Warm regards, Angie M. Mykel... More
