I got this hotel from hotwire, but one elevator is being replaced by the other company Thysson Krupp, the old Otis elevators are like ones out of a 40s video game like La Noire. I was on the 8th floor and every minute the elevator motor makes a high pitch squeal all night long. The double beds are small and... More

There were 4 of us there for three nights. The pluses were the beds are real comfortable and the rooms are quiet. Downsides, the sheets were paper thin and had little holes in them, the website says the rooms come with robes (nope), they say they have complimentary newspapers (only got one once because they run out, we were given... Debby, Thank you for leaving your comments, and for acknowledging our helpful valet, our comfortable beds, quiet rooms and the wine reception. We are in the process of renovating our bathrooms as well as our elevators. I do apologize for your being checked into a room that was in the process of being cleaned, as well as the missing alarm... I was shocked when I arrived, because this hotel had good reviews online. Don't believe them! The hotel is about 100 years old. First, it is not accessible to people with disabilities. You enter the lobby, then you must go down 6-7 steps to get to the elevator. There are two elevators, but only one works. I can understand that... More

Amiee, Thank you for your comments and for taking the time to speak with me personally this past Monday. As you stated our building was erected in 1928, and has kept is original layout with each ownership change. We do not tout ourselves as being disabilities accessible on any of our online sites, yet we will do our best to... More

Was looking for a hotel outside of the downtown area cause I knew it would be cheaper. Found this place on one of the major discount websites for the same price I was going to spend outside of downtown. *Two double beds were probably a little too much for the size of the room. Very cramped with four people. *Bathroom... More

We were coming up to Seattle on Amtrack. As we approached the city, we looked at the reviews for this hotel, which we had pre-booked, and they put us into a bit of a panic (the reviews at time of booking were OK). But when we checked in, it was fine. It is an older hotel in a city downtown... More

This may be the worst hotel I have ever experienced. The rooms are not well maintained (the window in my room was falling apart), only one elevator was functioning, the carpets are stained, and the fitness room was a complete joke. I had to take the stairs on two occasions and the stairways smelled of mold. One had an old... More

First, I understand the hotel is in good proximity to the wharf area and the many events and shops there. Having said that, $243 for a weeknight stay in a small, weird room was painful. First of all, I notice it's bloody cold in the room. Well on a day that is in the low 70's outside, the AC is... More

I was part of a tour group returning from an Alaskan cruise and the group was booked into this dump by YMT Tours. When we arrived with a bus full of tired travelers and tons of luggage, we were informed that there was only one working elevator, and as the hotel staff used it to move luggage, most trudged up... Linda, Thank you for leaving us with your comments and for acknowledging our location to shopping, restaurants and the Pike Place Market. We do apologize for only having one elevator in service while your tour group was in town. We are in the process modernizing our elevators with quicker, quieter equipment. We also apologize for the carpeting which we are... More

I suppose you should expect to pay a lot for a downtown Seattle hotel, but it seems that you should also get quite a bit for it. We stayed here 2 nights before going to Victoria and are now back. We thought the first nights rather expensive but the person with whom I made reservations gave me a nicely lower... More

Randy, Thank you for leaving your comments. Our building was built in 1928 and has kept the same layout over the years. We are in the process of modernizing our bathrooms to maximize the space as best as possible. Given some of the recent reviews I had some concerns about staying here. While the elevators and carpets could use some updating our bed and linens were new and very comfortable. We had an excellent night's sleep. The bathroom was small, but renovated, nice hot shower. Free Wifi worked well. Never tried the TV (does anyone still use one?) Yes,... More
