I chose the Mason for its price and its modest but seemingly appropriate rooms so I didn't expect a lot but I was let down on a couple of things: For one, the beds were atrocious for a person with a bad back like my own. Usually I can manage an average bed for a few nights but I was... More

Hi Traveler - Thank you for your review. We receive very bed complaints and I apologize you found both beds in your room unsuitable. This is also the first I've heard about the '09 internet issue. Our internet has been performing very well but I will check into this further! Yes, there are many fine hotel choices in Seattle. .... More

While an older hotel, it has some charm to it. The rooms are large and comfortable. The beds give a good nights sleep. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The coffee shop is decently priced and has a nice outdoor patio. The negatives aren't too bad. One elevator, not a long wait. Could use a coat of paint and a... More

Lovely Hotel, great breakfast/cafe in lobby, great location in city. Next to a Hospital but no disturbance re noise etc The roof garden with seats etc was a treat. The only improvement needed was the elevator- small and old. A delightful stay.

Was looking for a decent hotel in the downtown Seattle area while attending a technical conference. Colleague found this one surfing the net. Cost was $140/night; while expensive compared to other business hotels in area was 40% or greater savings. Does not have all of the amenities of bigger chains and business hotels but if you just need a clean... More

I only stayed one night here, but enjoyed my room, and the quiet atmosphere. The one elevator is a little small, but it never gave me problems. Location was great, it was a good starting spot for a Sunday morning walk around downtown. May have been a little overpriced for the condition it's in, but it was a Saturday night... More

I stayed at the Inn at Virginia Mason for a coffee conference in May and must say I was very pleasantly surprised by the excellent quality of room service food - many healthy choices and the menu had detailed nutritional advice. Hotel décor is quaint and has a vintage feel - this is definitely an Inn! They could get rid... More

This is a older classic hotel trying to be "with it". But 1 slow small elevator, a lot of steps to get to reception, narrow hallways. Think France. With free Internet and nice coffee shop. But the hotel is surrounded by the hospital and hospital parking is expensive. The street is steep. Limited local food. I think a lot of... More

Hi Traveler - Thank you for your review. Many of our guests say the Inn feels like a small New York or European style hotel so thank you for the compliment! We actually consider ourselves a residential style hotel (not a business hotel) but when the city fills up and business travelers can't find a room, we take them too!... More

This hotel has seen vast upgrades since previous reviews. New tvs, bedding, a keurig coffee maker. I personally didn't need the use of a microwave or mini fridge, but I know some guests expect such things. The room was clean and surprisingly quiet. We admit we were worried about the potential noise from the hospital but we heard nothing the... More

I stayed at the Inn a couple of years ago for my husband's 11 stay at Swedish Hospital. I found the staff to be very helpful and kind. I actually liked the vintage but slightly chipped tile and other funky features. It wasn't the sterile "Best Western" cookie cutter hotel. But the two things that really made it stand out... More

This was primarily a business trip for me at Virginia Mason Hospital. So staying close to the hospital cannot be any more possible than this example I think! I agree with the other reviews about the building/rooms being old. It is well maintained both functionally and cleanliness wise. Sure you’ll find some peculiar cosmetic items: chipped tile, different era furniture,... More
