Trying to slip in late (or early) and not be heard just won't work, as the creaks echo throughout the upstairs hallways. The downstairs bar/restaurant is open a few nights, and the crowd in the garden gets lively too. A courtesy bus picked us up from the Ferry Terminal. Room was clean, bathrooms down the passage way were clean. Breakfast in the dining room was excellent. This was a homely and peaceful place to spend a couple of nights. more

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at the Skagway Inn. I chose it because I had worked there during one summer 30 years ago and wanted to see the place again. Staying at the Inn was kind of like staying at your grandma's house: she lets you walk in and out as you please and its clean and inviting, but you feel like she hears every step. The place is creaky, from the floor to the bed. I know that comes with the history, and the rooms are very cute indeed.... more
