We stayed here for two nights to start our French holiday. We crossed the Chanel by Brittany ferries, Portsmouth to St Malo. Arrived early morning and we were at the hotel by 9.30am. Playing golf by 10.40am. Reception was very helpful, we hadn't booked a tee time in advance (a mistake, so if you can do it before you arrive)... More

Superb location and course of obvious golf delights and will test you, the restaurant has a limited menu thought the quality is good, 3 days and you start again. The Rooms are well furnished and appointed however there are problems, lack of privacy if you are on the ground floor and facing a green or T there is no privacy... More

Having read the previous reviews I was nervous BUT DONT BE - it's fantastic! We have been in France for 14 days and this is the best restaurant we have been in! The room is beautiful, the bar great and the food fabulous. I love golf but despite it looking a wonderful course, I didn't get chance to play it.... More

Ok, to reiterate previous comments, this is nowhere near St Malo - at least a 30 minute drive. Never mind; very pretty setting and a good resolver on the first tee to hit across the lake. After that some picturesque holes and a few where a too long tee shot would end up in a brook. But nothing much to... More

We stayed one night here before driving the 30 minutes into St Malo to catch the morning Brittany Ferries sailing back to Portsmouth. A good idea - the rooms were large and well-equipped, and breakfast fine. Don't be put off by the golf-buff angle - we don't play golf at all but were still made to feel welcome.

The Saint Malo Hotel, Golf & Country Club was chosen via Golfbreaks as a venue for an overnight stay with a round of 18 holes by my wife and I. We were not disappointed and very impressed. The course is in excellent condition and has some challenging holes an is a lovely course to play. On two of the holes... More

When we arrived they tried to put us in a room at the ground floor, but we had asked an booked to be on the first floor with a balcony. After a long negotiation we managed to get what we paid for... (by the way, the room on the ground flour was terrible, dirty and probably not cleaned.) Anyway, whe... More

Chose to stay here on a whim and it turned out wonderfully in our favour. The staff were all very pleasant and were keen to accommodate our every request. Made a last min booking on the same day of arrival and they made it happen ... even when we said we'd arrive at 2 a.m. The grounds are beautiful and... More

If your here for the golf it ticks all the right boxes, the hotel however is a low average and the food is disappointing. When we arrived we found only one person managing the reception who was on the phone for a considerable period of time (dealing with a difficult customer - my basic French managed to pick that up!).... This was our forth visit to the hotel. The staff are young and enthusiastic. The rooms are large and overlook the lake or the golf course. They are well equipped. The area is very quiet and the golf reasonable. The restaurant is quiet but the menu is good as is the service. The booking was through Brittany Ferries.
