My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at the Hotel Seward and at dinner twice at Gene's Place. It was a very nicely run historic hotel and we met Mary the owner a few times during our stay. She was very welcoming and told us of the history of the hotel. We ate dinner on two occasions in the... More

It was a nice stay in an historical hotel, +100 years old. We had a nice room with two queen size beds which were a bit too soft. There are no air-conditions in the rooms, which are not necessary in most of the summer days, but if you are lucky and you have a beautiful summer day (+75F) you will... More

We stayed one might just prior to a cruise. Hotel has two sections. Ask for a room with a view of the bay, larger rooms with mini refrigerator. HS also has rooms in the historical wing at lower rates. Service was great. They met our train in the morning and gave us transportation to the hotel. Departure day, the hotel... More

Only stayed one night, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Lobby is eclectic and the rooms are like stepping back in time. But very comfortable and surprisingly quiet. Insulated windows shut out any street noise, of which there is hardly any. Nice view, great location, very clean. Highly recommended, especially if you are interested is something other than a chain hotel.... More

My wife and I stayed here over Labor Day weekend this year and were very happy we picked this as our hotel. The location is wonderful with many restaurants, bars and activities within walking distance. The hotel is Victorian in style and the room we had was wonderful. Plenty of room with chairs for sitting and a electric fireplace that... More

This hotel is very convenient, located in downtown Seward. Take some time to tour the lobby and read the history. Since we have a dog we had a very convenient end room on the first floor. Our room was spacious, clean and included a refrigerator. The furnishings are old - it reminded me of the 1970's - the room and... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your wonderful comments. Appreciate that you enjoyed the hotel. I would like to share with you that the Hotel décor I chose for the Hotel was to represent a mix of a Victorian Alaskan theme. The furnishings in the rooms was purchased in 2010 in the dark wood with Victorian flair in there design. I... More

We booked two rooms for two nights in the historic side of Hotel Seward. Rooms were basic and clean, just what we needed. The location is convenient to walking around the town of Seward. Very friendly atmosphere from the front desk to the restaurant/bar manager to the the owner, Mary. The food and service were excellent at the restaurant also.... More

but I will try! This is a charming hotel located in downtown Seward. I usually don't "gush", but I'm going to make an exception here. It's hard to separate out whether our stay was so excellent due to the exceptional customer service, the quirkiness of the hotel, or the sheer charm and comfort of our room. This is definitely not... Stayed here for 2 nights at the end of August. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room seemed a bit dated but was very clean and comfortable. It was helpful to have a small refrigerator and microwave in the room. The location is conveniently located in the downtown area, so we were able to easily walk to the... More
