My party stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. One couple stayed in the Historic rooms while the other 4 stayed in the Alaska wing. I'll review the two separately because they are so very different. My overall rating is for the Historic wing. The Historic wing is very strange. The room was tiny and smelled like someone's musty basement.... More

This historic hotel is interesting. The staff is above and beyond friendly. Because it is old- it does have some drawbacks. The carpet has a musty odor. The rooms are small but very clean. The beds are comfortable. My two complaints are that when we called the hotel, they said that they had roll-a-ways and a family of 5 can... More

We stayed here for a week. We had to move rooms after the second nights because they were so booked up that we had a room with two queens the first two nights and moved to a room with one queen. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel was clean. Laundry services were available. The decor was quite old... More

Interesting a fun lobby. Deers bears mounted on wall and cool carved statues. The room was Victorian and charming. The dinning rooms had different themes and was very homie. The front desk agents were informative with a smile.

There's lots to look at in the lobby of this hotel. Stuffed animals, old furniture and pictures make this place almost a museum. The room was nice and clean and offered everything we needed. The wing we were in did not have air-conditioning, but that's seldom an issue in AK. The internet was dreadfully slow, but that seems to be... More

We stayed at the Hotel Seward for one night after being on a cruise for a week. It is in a great location with everything in downtown Seward easily accessible by foot. Loved the atmosphere of the hotel and the food was excellent. The crab meat omelette at breakfast is to die for! The staff throughout the hotel were so... More

Spent 3 nights here last week, on a fantastic trip to Alaska. I would definitely stay here again, but wanted to share pros and cons. It was wonderful to book a much less expensive room (Alaska is pricey, so the price was good) with a shared bath in their historic wing, part of the original hotel built in 1909 (old... More

the lobby was rather quaint with lots of hunters trophies. our room (number 10) on the ground floor was rather disappointing. it was small and dark with no view and there was nowhere in the bathroom to place toiletry items. I got the impression that if we had checked in earlier we would have got an upstairs room. there was... More

Don't expect to sleep a lot, because you will hear your neighbour snoring through the tiny walls... This was the first downside. Second thing is that the housekeeping left our room wide open with all our stuff visible in there (computer, camera, ...), so unprofessional! We don't know how long it stayed open, hopefully nothing was stolen, but that's a... More

I stayed recently for 2 nights and Hotel Seward is a a decent place for a couple nights for an affordable place to stay in Seward. It's older and has character...and a lot less expensive than other hotels in the area. Staff was friendly, room is older but clean and decent. I stayed in a room with a private bath.... More
