My daughter & I stayed in a room in the old part of the hotel. This section has shared bathrooms (you might have to wait a short while if the hotel is busy). Our room had a wash basin & 2 large, comfortable beds. It had a door through to the next room which let sounds through. Downstairs was the... More

The 'historic' rooms have tiny cot size beds - smaller than a twin. The bathrooms are down the hall. The walls are paper thin. I haven't experienced this type of low quality since my trip to Ukraine. I can't believe this room costs $130. If you are booking this hotel, make sure you are not in the 'historic' section.

We reserved the "honeymoon" suite for our anniversary and we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. Our room even included a fireplace. This is a beautifully decorated historic hotel located very conveniently downtown. We were walking distance to the SeaLife Center and a beautiful park. The staff was wonderful. The lobby is certainly worth stopping by and visiting.

We stayed here 2 nights while traveling on the Kenai penninsula. We had a very nice experience here. The bar in the hotel is quaint and the breakfast is very good. All the food is made to order. The hotel may be dated but it's very clean. We were in the historic part of the hotel and the room was... More

My brother and I booked a historic wing room with twin beds at the last minute. It was clean and the shared bathrooms were clean and available when needed. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the historical artifacts and mounted animals really added to the whole ambiance.

We decided to stay here based on reviews here. Disappointed would be an understatement. First, there is no mention that the rooms do not have private baths. There are 16 rooms sharing 2 bathrooms on my floor (one bathroom doesn't have a sink to wash your hands). We requested a queen bed and got twin beds. The room is crazy... More

Dear Guest, From your review it appears there was an mistake made at some point in your reservation. I am sorry you had not reviewed your confirmation before arriving and therefore had... More

This was a very nice hotel to stay at after a week long Alaskan cruise. The hotel staff was awesome. One of the managers even went out of his way to pick my wife and I up from the cruise pier after trying to get a taxi for an hour. The hotel is a little dated in some areas, but... More

The hotel was clean and very comfortable with a nice restaurant in the main lobby. They also had a washer and dryer on hand, which was very helpful. My husband, wanted to fish for sock eye while in the area, and the hotel referred us to a man named Wes Oetinger. He works for the hotel and also provides fishing... More

The hotel is located near the water and the SeaLife Center and other Seward downtown locations....all very handy. Their shuttle was useful to the extent that they would travel where you wanted to go. Ms Genes Restaurant was convenient and good quality but expensive. The room we were in the new section of the Hotel was cramped with too much... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your input. We do live in a postcard and appreciate the location. I agree the top exterior wood trim needs some care and when weather permits it will be addressed before next season. To help understand our room size we are on the larger size of rooms. But it may seem smaller because we have... More
