The staff was friendly, informative and knows the area. The location was outstanding - clean rooms, great views and was nice to retire to at the end of a busy day. Will definitely visit again. Thank you very much for the hospitality of the staff! more

We were the lucky couple chosen for the Who's Wedding is It Anyways - 100th episode giveaway. We were booked at the Seward Hotel for 5 nights, and were so very happy with the friendliness of the staff. The rooms were nice, and the honeymoon suite came complete with all amenities and a view that took our breath away. We... more

This 1st class hotel was a fantastic suprise to us because we were going to stay at the Best Western which had just closed for the season. We walked across the street into heaven on earth at the Hotel Seward in Alaska. It is a family owned piece of upscale history. Every part of the Hotel Seward is well appointed,... more

At the recommendation of friends in Anchorage, we stayed one night in a charming room on the third floor in the newer section of the hotel overlooking 5th street in downtown Seward. The $143 room was spacious with a filtered view of the bay and a pseudo fireplace (a bookcase-like electric room heater with fake flames), not a log burner,... more

Stayed in the 'historic part' of Hotel. Would not do it again as small room, shower only and windows looked into alley. Ice machine broken and front desk just sent you a couple of blocks to get ice in a scary looking bar. Seems like a cooler filled with ice from the grocery store would have worked. Extra bucks would... more

After two nights at a less-than-comfortable cabin, we (group of six) were delighted to spend two nights at the Hotel Seward. New owners have remodeled and reburbished the property, and from the comfortable and inviting seating area in the lobby to the beautiful and clean (very important to me) rooms, we couldn't have been more pleased. The owners and staff... more

My husband who is a disabled older man and I stayed one night at the Hotel Seward after getting off a cruise ship. I had called to make the reservation in order to explain our needs, and the staff was excellent in working with me even though there was no handicapped accessible room available on the night we were there.... more

Stayed here for one night and was very pleasantly surprised. Loved the crazy decor and the room was very clean and comfortable but a little hot. The staff actually was glad to have us there and were very friendly. I think they only had internet in the lobby because I could not get it in the room. All in all... more

I loved this quaint hotel! The staff were outstanding; helpful, kind, courteous, etc. They remembered us (names, where we're from, etc) every time they saw us. Always asked how our stay was and if there was anything we needed. Offered us umbrellas (it rained most of our trip), discounts to certain activities. Convenient location, although Seward is tiny so most... more

We had a room in the 'old' part of the building and I would warn people from staying there. The room had a terrible smell and it seemed the desk person was probably aware of it. On the positive side, I strongly recommend visiting the lobby. It has a great old appearance and a rich collection of stuffed animals. more
