Perfection is the best way I can describe Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge. From the sheer beauty of the island, to the remarkable staff that nails every detail imaginable, to the delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner prepared by the incredible chef….This is a very special place. My family and I had high expectations for the lodge and they blew those expectations out of the water. We all left fox island on our day of departure disappointed to leave the lodge but also grateful for a once in a lifetime stay at such a remarkable place. Everything about this place is stunning but the staff is what made our stay so special. Thank you to everyone who made our party of 10’s Two night stay unforgettable.

The Wilderness Lodge offers a quiet and serene experience--great food, very accommodating staff and a comfortable and clean setting. We loved the kayak adventure and the opportunity to sit around a campfire at night.

This is by far the best resort we have ever stayed. The food is fabulous, the views and atmosphere is better than anything we expected, and the staff made our stay truly magical! French press coffee delivered to our cabin at 7:00 am!!! And everyone was so kind to our kids and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We will definitely come back!

We recently visited and spent two nights on Fox Island with natural Habitat. It was fun to be staying off the grid. Our cabin was clean, spacious, relaxing and private. Wendy learned all 15 of our names instantly. The food was amazing and the huge dining table was perfect for our group. Wendy took us on a nature walk and pointed out many things we might have missed. Couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome or special. I’d definitely recommend it

Staying on Fox Island with Natural Habitat was such a joy. As we were learning our fellow tour group names, Wendy Parker learned all 15 names the first night. We felt part of the family. The food was exceptional and the location is just stunning.

I hadn’t intended to write this review but I’ve tried 2 ways to contact the owner of the resort over the past several days with zero response. Where to begin? I was one of a group there when there was the recent tsunami alert. And it’s clear that while they advertise as a place that looks out for the safety of their guests that’s a lie. They have no protocols. Staff knocked on doors of the cabins (I’m guessing about 11pm) but different cabins were given different instructions. We were told to get dressed quickly and head to the lodge. Others were told to also wear rain gear because it had started raining. No one was told to bring a flashlight. So we get to the lodge and find some people had been sent one way, and some another. The ‘path’ up to high ground is not a real path but more likely an animal trail, was not marked, was full of rocks and roots and because it was raining (and up a hill) slippery. So we’re scrambling using hands and feet. Halfway up, another guest met us and said the rest of the path was more difficult and there was no ‘final planned stop’ and suggested we go to the other path where there was a platform. So we slowly backtracked and looked for the rest of the group. Found our trip leader (amazing guy) and one resort staff member. They said there was a platform up the hill - but again no real trail. But someone had tied a rope to a tree by the platform and we were to use that to pull ourselves up. I start up and about 2 steps up, the rope gives way, and I fly back landing on a stump with all my weight. Eventually made it up to the platform which was not designed to hold even half of the people at the resort. And find out they gave bad directions to one of our group and she is missing, without her contacts, in the dark and rain. So based on this, the only people I would advise to visit here are people I really don’t like. Food - ok but the caribou was grossly over cooked and dry. On our last evening the first course was served promptly and was tasty. We then waited more than 45 minutes (probably closer to an hour) for the main course with zero explanation. Not a good thing when some of the group are diabetics. As for me - a week and a half later, they never checked on me and I’ve still got enormous and vivid bruises on both thighs and can’t sit on a unpadded chair.…

The lodge was a great place to unplug and relax. There are plenty of things to do, hiking the island, walking the coast during low tide, kayaking, and of course, eating! The food was incredible. Chef Jeff was amazing and Brady, Luc, and Nancy were incredible with there service. We were always stuffed with perfect food and had top notch attention from the staff. They made our honeymoon a memorable and fun. We will be back as soon as we can!

This place is a must go. It’s excellent. As far as wilderness lodges in very remote places go, this is 5 stars. The staff was SO AWESOME, the cabins comfortable, the common areas cozy. I love how few guests the place can accommodate, it feels very exclusive. Plus the staff get to know you and your unique preferences for food, drinks, etc. I would more than highly recommend.
