Since we traveled to Alaska in the prime tourist season we paid top dollar to stay at this hotel. We stayed 3 nights. The first night we were exhausted from traveling, pulled back the sheets and found hair everywhere (my daughter stopped counting at 15 hairs). I don't ever complain at hotels but this had to be brought up. The... more

Sprung for a bayview deluxe room which was an extra we should have skipped. Beds were very comfortable. Stayed two nights in late July while taking a cruise trip to Kenai Fjords NP. Hotel is across the street from Sea Life Center, but about a mile away from the center of action around the small boat harbor. If you see... more

I agree with the previous reviewer 100%. We had very similar experiences. We were not there the 4th of July and it was still noisy at night, namely from the saloon that is a block away. And since there is no A/C you needed to leave the window open to get any type of ventilation. Window open + saloon a... more

This was a good location and a nice hotel, but the room was so small. Two people couldn't walk between the desk and the bed. Also, there is no air conditioning, so we had to get two fans to cool the room down. We made the mistake of staying there on July 4th because there was TOO MUCH partying outside... more

Recently refurbished, the Hotel Edgewater's rooms are excellently appointed. The beds are extremely comfortable and there are many things to make guests comfortable, from the big, flat screen TV to the one cup personal coffee maker to the room with a beautiful view. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. If we ever get back to Seward,... more

Loved the blacony, we had a room which looked over the harbour so the view was amazing. Location was awesome. The room itself was only fairly small but when your on holiday why do you need alot of room when you should be only using it for sleeping and showering! It had a refridgerator and microwave which came in handy.... more

We did not pop for a harbor view but you will see mountains pretty much all around. Our room was very nice, especially for the price (59/night). I imagine the price was due to our stay being at the end of the season. We still got good wildlife viewing on a tour boat one day. The breakfast was better than... more

I'm surprised by the other 2 Sept. 2007 reviews as we were there the end of Sept. and all was great ! Our room was large with a big window and balcony. We loved the balcony ! Ask to face the bay. We saw a HUGE bunny runny down the road and bears on the mountain each morning (bring Binos).... more

This hotel is in downtown Seward. That is the only good part. It is nice outside. Inside, it has the smallest rooms I have ever been in. The furniture is Walmart quality. There is no window, only a sliding door to a common balcony. There was a $10 box fan for "ventilation". The place was clean but they charged $199... more

My husband and I had the misfortune of staying at the Edgewater for one night following a wonderful seven-day Alaskan cruise on the Celebrity Summit. The Hotel Edgewater was an awful let-down after the excellent service we had received aboard the Summit. Now, I wasn't expecting my room attendant to follow me off-ship but I was expecting some semblance of... more
