We asked a lady in Seward where her favorite breakfast place was and she said Le Barn Appetit. Well, it was one of our VERY FAVORITE places to eat while we were in Alaska vacationing. My husband really had never had crepes before and just loved the salmon crepe. We also ordered the reindeer sausage and a seasonal fruit crepe.... More

Our friends inadvertently booked a room for the wrong night where we stayed but ended up here instead. Lucky ducks! Really a unique property, but the hosts really make it a gem. They are also your meal ticket for the morning. Do look at the photo albums lying about in the dining room and then ask Yvon questions about them... More

Breakfasts were spectacular and hearty, try the seasonal fruit crepe. Janet and Yvon are gracious hosts and down to earth - you feel like you've known them forever. Their stories and banter are charming. The Jack London cabin has so much character!Janet's explanation of the cabin (construction and decor) only enhanced the experience. I enjoyed the stay so much more... More

We had reservations somewhere else in Seward for 5 people but then were told that the rooms only accommodate 4. Fortunately, the manager found us rooms at La Barn Appetit. We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment in the barn. It was very comfortable and roomy. Janet and Yvon were very friendly and welcoming. And the breakfast crepes were delicious!!

When we arrived in Seward, we were told that our hotel reservation through Booking.com was not valid. (Long story and won't go into here). Lucky for us the management was able to get us two nights in the Tree House room at Le Barn Appetit. This place is an adventure. The Tree House is built around a tree so the... More

While the crepes were quite good, it was the visit with Janet and Yvon that made this simply the most memorable Alaskan experience. Loved the stories and hanging out with them both. Don't expect anything fast. This is eating and visiting as it is meant to be.

We stayed at the Jack London cabin. It was a true alaskan experience. The decor was very very interesting. The dead animals on the walls really freaked my kids out but there are dead things on walls at every alaskan store, restaurant, hotel. I am glad we stayed. So much more character then staying at the holiday inn. This place... More

We stayed at the Le Barn Appetit on July 30th and 31st. A gorgeous B&B with a huge room that accommodated 4 people. It was a joy to see all the farm animals. The views were beautiful and they also had a neat sun room. This was my first stay at a B&B and I enjoyed the experience. The crepes... More

Meeting Janet and Yvon was one of the highlights of our vacation. We went there for breakfast. As soon as you enter, you know you are somewhere special. There are three large tables with Yvon's crepe stand on the side. Just pick a seat and you are in for the experience of a lifetime! There are so many artifacts on... More
